being called a leftie ******* is like a badge of honor. i laugh since it hurts me just as bad as when a brit calls me a texas guy a "yank"...like the word leftist sounds dumb..im have a brain fart what is a right person called ? a rightist? a righty? stupid ******* righties
Totally agree with this. Mrs. B-Bob and I watched literally 12 minutes of CNN (after the John King memes) -- first time in over a decade, I kid you not. The breathlessness, the slick production, the entertainment, the over-the-top liberal bias: very intoxicating (or infuriating, I'm sure). Turned that **** off and looked at one another like we'd almost shot horse but put the needle down.
right bowl of soup ... but its also past winning or beating or "opposing" sure you can be slick too and smile to beat your "enemy" and think it that way. thats a bit on you to think like that too. i have "friends" like that always looking for that min 51/49 them and in their focus to win they spend so much time losing. not everything is a chess game. the time machine doesnt ..exist cat outta bag. unfortunately ..perhaps you could say.. but its "coexist" now like the bumper sticker says. to be honest im more nostalgic of the idea there used to be less people everywhere. i miss sparse population. i think you have to adapt philosophies to population. its very dynamic. especially if its only a binary win lose...like you keep saying "compromise" which i see as a give and take..reminder that means hopefully 50 -50 or near..trump wants 99 - 1 or like my friend i dont talk to anymore 100 - 0 you can still have your chinatown or fiesta supermarket and those people are happy to not talk to you either.. its not like you live with them. people self segregate themselves. income level is the other huge aspect. even then folks self segregate by race. you dont need trump to do that for you and zero reason to pander to white power etc. its great to be proud but to have it be a platform for traction action expecting results is time tested fail. the experiment repeated over and over in history.
Eh, I'm just digesting it by taking to heart what Chappelle said last night -- I found it really powerful. I'm remembering how I felt exactly four years ago -- the "how could the country do this?" A lot of the 70M Trump voters are feeling the same way today. And I hated the SNL cold open. Dancing around saying "loser" doesn't help anything. But honestly, I'm hoping we can all relish the Rudy impersonation in weekend update. McKinnon was on fire. Spoiler EDIT: Biden lead is now about 10,000 votes in GA, and that would hold up under recount unless something really extraordinary happens. Biden up by 19,000 in AZ. Not sure why they don't call NC. I guess having to wait on ballots means they technically have no idea how many of the unreturned might still be on their way. But Trump's lead there is too big.
Liberal bias? I watched CNN for the first time in my life these days and I found it pandering to the Republicans in their prime time. They had a Republican senator out there who all the time gave bullsh!t excuses on why Trump was trying to topple democracy. "Give him time" "It's the way he is" "He is just emotional" blah bah blah and all the others were just nodding their heads. Ridiculous things being told about a president refusing to let go of power and aknowledging the democratic result. We should be understanding of wanabe dictators because they are angry. The whole CNN crew were like domesticate abuse victims trying to excuse their husband " Oh let's be understanding..he's just angry..that's the way he is but we already know it.."
Just a reminder that the Trump team is determined to drag this out. PA Senator Pat Toomey is on the Face the Nation saying that counting votes that arrived after election day goes against PA law and those need to be adjudicated and not be counted. Also Lindsey Graham is saying that he has a sworn affidavit from a USPS worker about "back dated ballots."
Okay, you've probably watched 100x more of CNN than me at this point. The 12 minutes I watched (and it was before the election was called) were just pretty obviously biased in terms of the outcome they wanted to see. I just don't watch broadcast news, at all, so my baseline is news from decades ago, without all the facial expressions and word choices that (to me), aren't very objective. Cheers.
Kate was brilliant! She’s a very big part of the renaissance of SNL. Stick around a long time, McKinnon.
On the topic of cable news.... hardly Anyone ever watches those shows. Foxnews leads the pack and tucker Carlos at that hit at its peak its like 1 million viewers and most of them 49+. to the extent younger generations will struggle wading through the crap... it’s the digital crap. Which on the one hand is much harder and increasingly harder (next their working in deep fake videos which will have people saying things they never said).... but on the other hand is incredibly easy. Don’t be dumb. Research. Verify. Fact check. All the truth is right in your pocket on your phone.
