Great words. I talked about compromise a lot but I think what I should rather have said is being willing to listen as what I should have emphasized...the best way to beat a side is to convince a side that you aren’t the enemy. If you show a side that opposes you that you are willing to listen, it tells them they are important, it says you really care that you are able of being kind and empathetic to what there concerns are. Once you do this they are more willing to return that favor and then cooperation starts that benefits both sides since we are all in the bowl of soup together
