Reports of the death of the Republican party are greatly exaggerated.

Let's not forget that Trump is going to get the second most votes of any presidential candidate in history with at least 69 million Americans voting for him. It looks like unlikely the Democrats will take the Senate and they lost House seats.

This is the same mistake that Democrats often make that winning the Presidency is the ultimate end. Even while Obama easily won two terms Republicans were gaining at every other level. When people complain about the ability of the Republicans to control legislation, the confirmation process, and gerrymander a lot of that happened under Obama because Republicans focused as much, if not more on, winning down ballot races.

Even though it appears likely Trump is going down in defeat and there is the possibility of Democrats still taking Senate this election isn't the massive win that Democrats hoped for and certainly isn't a repudiation of Trump, Trumpism or the GOP. 69 million Americans show that Trump and the Republican message still has a lot of appeal even with the most corrupt US President in history and a bungled response to one of the worst crisis in US history that they are willing to give him another four years. What isn't being talked about enough is the failure of Democrats to take more statehouses in a census year. That just means that Republicans are still in good position to redraw districts to their favor and craft state legislation on elections in their favor. It cements for another 10 years their advantages.

This election far from being the death knell of the Republican party just shows how resilient it is.

I'm about done with this John King fellow. I think I'd like to bury him with him inside that touchscreen video thingy while he's still talking. #VideoDromeRIP

Yeah Fox could be in a precarious situation soon depending on what Trump gets in terms of a media platform. Is it just a YouTube channel? Will he get OAN and get enough advertisers to get it on every platform?

If Fox thinks they can pivot to a home where Republicans have seen the light etc. I think MSNBC has that market dominated. The John McCain network it really should be. Not saying that as a bad thing FYI, but just making a point that Fox likely has to figure out one side or another. Rupert Murdoch and the other right wing billionaires I’m sure are having talk already to gameplan every scenario. I said it earlier and I’ll say it again, I think the big tell will be sometime soon after leaving office Trump will start hosting rally’s. If he’s pulling in the same kind of crowds he normally gets Fox might be forced to back him again for 24.

Maybe it’s pretty simple. It’s about polarization and you can’t solve that with just policies.

I’m waiting for all the result to be in and read more about the breakdown. There definitely are pockets of differences throughout - it’s national but are also regional. The future of politic might be the ability to pinpoint segment locally and work at that level effectively. Both on the defense and offense. And you have to start early. Once someone is “on a team” it’s already too late and extraordinary hard to change.

Murdoch doesn’t want the end of America...he’s made tons of money off America over the last couple of decades.
If guys like Jordan can’t get in line, he’ll be out of a job in 2 years.

Trump won’t start his own media company...doesn’t have the money or resources and hasn’t done any planning. Best he could do is invest in OAN, but they aren't and won’t be a FOX competitor.

Honestly, if Trump wanted to stay in the spotlight, he’d concede semi-graciously, go to Murdoch and ask for his own show, maybe one that allows him to do rallies. I imagine both sides would go for it...as long as he doesn’t run again. He won’t do it, though...doesn’t want to work for someone else like that and get told what to do in that way.

This is basically it...the end of the road of being in the public eye for Trump. My guess is he mentions in the next year or two, in some interview doing a piece on him, that he should have never become president...was the ending of his life as he knew it. Shortly after, he dies. FOX sort of shows the ceremony; other channels just put a report in their news shows about it.

These lessons people are "learning" are so ridiculous and wrong. Trump's decision to bail on absentee voting didn't hurt him - Republicans turned out in droves all over the country. They won seats in the House and held a bunch of critical Senate seats. Turnout was a non-issue.

What hurt him is that many of those people who voted for Republicans in the House and Senate also voted against him. THAT should be the lesson both parties should learn: Dems need to realize that, despite all the GOP's craziness and having no actual platform to run on, the opposition did really well in this election. Both parties can learn that if they DON'T turnout voters in a future election, blowouts by either side are possible because millions of new voters have been activated. Hillary turnout in this election on the Dems side would have resulted in total Trump domination. And Trump 2016 turnout on the GOP side would have resulted in Biden domination. Turnout on both sides seems to be driven largely by hatred/fear of the other side, so going forward, elections may be simply more about demonizing the other party than presenting ideas, sadly.

It was a list of trump's tweets from this morning. But twitter tagged them as as "Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process." and as such you can't even "share" them.

Here's a brand new trump tweet that will get tagged soon...

What happened to that old lady they rolled out who said she showed up to a polling place and she was told she already voted? I think she forgot she already voted by mail-in ballot. Bless her heart. GOP scum trying to capitalize on an old lady possibly with memory problems...like that was a smoking gun. Geez.

Good to see that he has come back down to Earth. We should print that on his gravestone.

Donald Trump should go in the dictionary with definition of "a man who lies and believes he is stating facts". Lie after lie after lie. And, just under half of America bought into it for four years wanting four more years.

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/07/us/pennsylvania-convention-center-arrests/index.html

(CNN) — Two armed Virginia men who were arrested Thursday outside the Philadelphia Convention Center were "coming to deliver a truck full of fake ballots" to the city, CNN affiliate KYW reported, citing prosecutors.

The center is one of the places where election workers have been counting votes from the 2020 general election, which includes the race for president. Text messages reveal that the men were concerned about the tallying of votes at the convention center, prosecutors said, according to KYW.

Antonio LaMotta, 61, and Joshua Macias, 42, both of Chesapeake, Virginia, were arrested Thursday night outside the center on suspicion of carrying handguns in Pennsylvania without permits, authorities said.

Philadelphia police said they found the men Thursday night after receiving a tip that people with firearms were heading to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in a silver Hummer truck.

Officers found a silver Hummer a block from the center -- parked and unoccupied -- around 10:20 p.m. Thursday, about seven minutes before finding the men, who acknowledged the Hummer was theirs, police said.

Both men were carrying loaded handguns, and police found an AR-type rifle in the Hummer, authorities said at a news conference Friday. About 160 rounds of ammunition were found in the weapons and the vehicle, authorities said.

Stickers and a hat with logos of the QAnon conspiracy movement were found in the vehicle, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said. LaMotta and Macias were charged with having a concealed firearm without a license and carrying a firearm on a public street or public property, Krasner said.

"This alarming incident is still very much under investigation regarding additional charges," Krasner said.

LaMotta and Macias were arraigned Friday night, and a judge set bail at $750,000 each, Krasner's spokeswoman Jane Roh said.

Details about the alleged fake ballots -- including where they came from, whether they were found in the Hummer, or what was marked on them -- weren't immediately available.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the men had legal representation. CNN has sought comment from the Philadelphia Public Defenders Office and LaMotta's relatives.

A woman who was traveling with the men has not been arrested, Krasner said.

A hat with the QAnon logo was found in the Hummer, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said. A hat with the QAnon logo was found in the Hummer, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said.

Suspect said he needed to take leave to go to Philadelphia, employer says

LaMotta told his work supervisor a few days ago that he needed leave for an "assignment" in Philadelphia, according to the CEO of the company that employs him.

LaMotta works in the Virginia area for Nationwide Investigations & Security, a Houston-based security services firm, according to company CEO Allen Hollimon and LaMotta's personal website. Hollimon told CNN that LaMotta this week told his supervisor he needed to take leave for the "assignment" in Philadelphia that was not assigned through the company.

Hollimon said he did not know why LaMotta was in Philadelphia and emphasized that he believes he is "a good guy."

"He's a very devoted guy. I've never had an issue with him," Hollimon told CNN. "He's not a threat."

LaMotta's website, which has since been taken down, described him as a "crisis response, security, fugitive recovery agent, bodyguard, security contractor."

The website included his date of birth and hometown, both of which matched information shared by the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

The website displayed pictures of him posing beside a silver Hummer. It also detailed his work experience, including his work at Nationwide Investigation & Security, as well as documents related to a military discharge.

The website detailed other work experience, including for the Virginia city of Chesapeake, where he lives.

LaMotta was a facilities maintenance technician for the city from August 2014 to May 2019, Chesapeake spokesman Heath Covey told CNN. Cover said he could not provide details about why LaMotta left the job.

    Very fine people.
