Not all, but it’s a good place to start from. He realizes that our defense needs to get better too. I’m glad he has spoken to James and Russ. He is a rookie coach, but he will try to get through to them.
All good to hear but need to see it to believe it. But downplaying Morey's impact sounds like Trump trying to discredit Fauci. Not a good look, especially when everyone knows it's a lie.
after listening to most of it, my happiness over hiring Silas has only increased the answer he gave to Tim MacMahon was so good I had to rewind and listen to it a 2nd time
ADDING to existing offense AND defense instead of replacing Rockets system is the exact way to maintain buy in from the players, especially Harden. But Silas needs to UP his goals, Rockets have already done 2nd or 3rd best offense. They have had the best offense, need to bring some of that Mavs pixie dust and make their offense BEST EVER. While still contending for 1st seed in West.
Patrick: Daddy everyone on Clutchfans says you are cheap. Ferntits" Don't worry son , we'll have Stone say otherwise at the presser , the idiots will believe it.
I am cautious bc remember when Bob said he would game plan for everyteam different when he was hired.
If Jeff Van Gundy was hired and he Says I have different Styles on Offense, would you believe him and his 80 point games with Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming. Jeff Van Gundy and Bill O Brien are so identical. In barking at players and not improving yourself in offense and defense. Plus being hard headed in not learning new offenses and defense and not applying it on the players in practice and game situations.
A rookie GM (with adequacy issues) and a rookie coach... with a overbearing and unrealistic owner... let’s see how this goes. We will know really soon if this will work. Stone already has the lying down on a number of accounts. Stephen Silas seems like an exceptional person.
Shane Battier and Jeff Bzdelik would soothe all ills IMO. Battier would bring immense respect and stability to FO (not to mention new perspective and ideas) while Bzdelik would bring familiarity and confidence to the players. Open up daddy's wallet Patrick!
They seem so insecure, repeatedly insisting they can do what their predecessors did. I don't think any of them once said they could do better, and Stone even said "I don't know if it will work but we will try." When Stone went on about Tilman's willingness to spend, it was so cringey he had to sigh as soon as he was done lol Good performance there by Stone. We need to spend up to the full MLE on a C who can defend respectably on the perimeter and shoot the 3. Then we need to re-sign Rivers and Green. Then we pick up the best minimum options available. Instead they're going to "save" a big chunk of the MLE for the deadline, then that deadline deal will fall through. Just watch.
Silas has to practice the finger twirl for the coaching challenge. He's vague but maybe he has ideas on tweaking the offense a bit more. "Little more action" "push the pace" Let's get it.
I am curious if Eli Witus is the Smartest guy in the Front Office. Why wasn't he Promoted as General Manager? James Harden has said Tad Brown is a Father Figure to him. Harden has thanked Rafael in his MVP Speech. Maybe Harden wanted Stone as GM.
