Efficiency-wise, forks are engineered to work with plates. Spoons or sporks with bowls. The only exception is salad, which you need the longer tines for, so if it's in a bowl, use a fork. However, I end up grabbing a spoon to get the last of the salad out of the bottom. Chopsticks: what's that all about? I can use them but when it comes to non-sushi, I prefer a fork, spoon, or spork, situationally.
Regardless of what works better. I like using chopsticks more for some reason. Not about the food or because it is cool or something. Just the process of it feels better.
1. Fork. It is extremely versatile and when I cook (which is every night), I usually have a fork in my left hand and a spatula in the right 2. Chopsticks. After you get the hang of them, it's faster and easier to throw a ton of food in my face with these 2. Knife. Sinlge-purpose, but frequently needed when food won't fit into my pie hole 3. Spoon. Single-purpose and not frequently used. Only needed for soup.
Bowl Spoon Fork In that order. Plates and chopsticks can **** off. We eat a lot of soup/rice dishes, I can eat most things with a spoon or my hands, but forks are necessary for some meals like salads, and if I gave my 3 year old son a plate the food would end up on the floor half the time, with a bowl that percentage is reduced to a quarter of the time. I feel confident in my assessment.
I bought a four pack for my middle son when he was learning to use utensils. Now I use them for any ‘side’ type dish that’s served in a bowl like rice, beans, etc.
Chopsticks for anything that you don't want to have holes in it before biting into ..dumplings and etc.. Fork for salads and etc.... Fork and knife for large cuts of meat Spoon for soup and etc.... Hands for whenever I can get away with it .... Spork....not used
fukk chopstix, they hurt hand. i do forks, or maybe straight up hands for buffalo wings and shiz. i bought those chopstix helpers that you stick to the end of the sticks to make them work like a tong, for the rare occasion that i have to go out for sushi (i hate sushi). also wassup with some brehs using knife/fork for pizza? that's not how the ninja turtles do it.
I have long argued that the most efficient table setting by far would be knife, fork, spoon, chopsticks. You can eat anything easily with those four tools available to you. There are major gaps when you have to pick one set or the other.
My aunt one time was all like, "I can't stand Chinese food. Who eats it anyway?" I was like hmm. Like at least a billion people a day? Racist b****.
