Watch Dogs:Legion only running on dynamic 1080p on Series S, another disaster class.

Hope the ppl who pre-ordered that console really think twice about whether the $ difference is worth it.
Even if you only have a 1080p Screen, this crap console will struggle to hit that resolution while also having unstable FPS in some cases and worse graphics settings.

Also is this a good deal for someone who doesn't wanna pay for the console up front?

 

Yea that's how it works through qualified retailers (can look them up on the official Xbox website). You are basically getting a loan from a bank and are paying monthly installments to them.

It's the same as any installment plan for other products, so if you got the monthly income and know your account balance movements it's okay.

If you have the ultimate game pass or want it, it is basically an interest free loan to do the installment plan. As someone with ultimate game pass, I will likely go this route when I bump up to next gen consoles.

 

The amount of repo'ed/refurbished xboxs is gonna be crazy.

So LG Display had to come out and admit that VRR is inherently not working right on all current gen OLED panels, leading to flickering, artefacts and washed out blacks (notice how LG themselves haven't mentioned this and haven't informed customers so far).

This can very likely not be fixed with a software update and you'll have to wait for future models with new hardware approaches.



This was also mentioned in Vincent's other OLED reviews, but guess tinny and ziggy missed the memo and as usual didn't watch the actual content.

So beware if you are looking at OLED for VRR and don't be mislead by ppl only parroting LG marketing videos.
I also mentioned many of the new models being fake hdmi 2.1 with missing features and limited bandwidth, so you should wait for next year's models at least to see if they actually support full hdmi 2.1 and are future-proof.

The video mentions how these VRR issues can also happen on LCD TVs, but a firmware update from Samsung this week seems to have fixed the issue entirely, likely due to the different pixel approach compared to OLED Panels.
