I disagree. Biden has more votes than any President in history. If the Democrats win the Presidency, they will have beaten an incumbent for only the third time 60 years. 5-6 months ago the Democrats were not expected to gain any seats in the Senate. They now are looking at adding several seats and are in line for a clear majority by 2022. This country is very evenly divided. This election (assuming Biden wins the Presidency) will have been a good one for Democrats.

Lincoln Project did nothing. Republicans will vote Republican no matter what. By definition, they are Republican because they are selfish. Despite Trump's antics, they will vote for him purely on low taxes, his stance on riots/property damage, and abortion if they are religious. In public, they might stay quiet or join in on criticizing the president for the things that he says. In private, they don't care.

The Democratic Party needs to do a little self-reflection. Both parties have extreme elements that are worrying and distracting from getting some governing done. But this should have been a clear Democratic win as a judgement against Trump and return to some sanity. The socialism vein in the Democratic Party is a loser and the result of this election should demonstrate clearly this is not a majority platform for the country.
