Precisely because people treat election as pageant contest. No amount of policy talk can convince a general voter that Dems are better for their financial success than Republicans because latter profess a powerful pull-yourself-by-bootstraps message which gives hope for self-determination. Dems concentrate on the actual realities such as quality of life - a blase message that reminds us that we will die.
Maybe Andrew Yang can do it as receiving salary vs receiving social safety net hand outs make people a little less ashamed of being at the bottom of economical ladder.

It's a powerful shame-based messaging reality that will be there until we get rid of our cultural exceptionalism and hate of socialism.

perhaps not...he’d be labeled radical left, socialist, and all that other stuff, and people would eat it up

But still, even with a moderate Democrat, there’s no one who’s charismatic, speaks well, and can craft a good message? They attacked Joe Biden’s mental capacity so much that people would come into the debates expecting Biden to show advanced stages of dementia.

seriously - this isn't florida 2000, which was decided by 0.009% where a recoutn basically can flip the outcome, it's much bigger margins and way harder to change.

Where's that guy who was running around calling everyone baby killers last night? Has he made his much anticipated return?

There's more to it than this. Visiting Jacob Blake in the hospital was likely not the best look for a law and order candidate.

And when they were counting votes in Florida, Gore concedes.

The Dems have to understand one day that the GOP is playing for keeps. They are not just trying to get elected to pass a few things, they are trying to keep power and hold power...indefinitely.

They are going to contest the **** out of this election. I guess we are going to see how partisan (or hopefully non-partisan) our federal system is after 4 years of GOP court packing.

Yes, well the democrats at the national level have to do a better job prioritizing and explaining their economic plan. It is almost always the largest issue.

Moreso than rubbing it in we'd appreciate the saner of our conservative friends telling the handful of conspiracy freeper nuts to pipe down. Soros and his demon worshiping baby eating cabal didn't steal this.

I read that there are many places where police departments are getting much bigger budgets than that allocated for education and other important things. Maybe explain how they’d rather invest in more weaponry for police than educating your children, and maybe people would have an open mind and consider change. Instead, u want to yell out defund the police and have people thinking the left wants to get rid of police and promote uncontrolled lawlessness.

He did not throw progressive policies under the bus he got widely criticized talking about transitioning from fossil fuels in the last debate.

Pandering to Republicans won him the election, how do you think he flipped all of those republican districts and suburbs?

He got record turnout, I don't understand your premise here.

What democratic candidate could have done all of that and gotten higher turnout?

I hate sounding like I think Biden is the be all candidate because he is not but he checked enough boxes to defeat Trump which after lat night I don't think anyone else could have.

    Saddens me to say that.

I actually don't want to rub it in if Biden is the winner. I wouldn't want to rub it in if the Dems win senate too.

I know a good chunk of the country is conservative and I think the president should represent ALL of the country and not wage war against the opposing party.

Gideon supposedly bombed her debate and was losing ground before the election. With the increased turnout, it was enouh to keep Collins in.

seems a lot of people up there did the vote for the Dem pres/Republican Senator thing. My parents did that here in Texas.

Instead of rubbing it by either side, how about we actually hold all our politicians accountable and make america love and care again.
