For this reason, I was hoping Ossof would win. I guess he still could, but he really seems like personality wise where the Dems need to go. And yes, the squad too.

I'm not talking policies here just charisma and personality wise, the Dems need to sell their message better and stop playing so nice when they interact with Republicans. I think the younger democrats understand that the GOP is playing for keeps, they aren't playing politics, the GOP is playing for domination.

What triggers an automatic recount? I thought if it was within 0.5%. Biden is currently up 0.7%.

Dems need to hire Republican marketing consultants. They know how to attack and give a clear message of what they stand for. The issues most Dems are for tend to be popular among the general public. It's just not delivered as well.

Serious question, because I don't know. Were there any progressive policies in battleground states? I know Florida had minimum wage and that just passed by 1%.

I mean we keep harping on the whole establishment vs the progressive movement, but if this election results tell me anything is that Republicans have a stronghold on the working class of America and it's going to be very difficult for Democrats to win the presidency in 2024 (assuming Biden will win 2020). The Republican party will keep harping on democrats being socialists, so how the hell do we get voters to not be scared of that label? It's not as if the democrats do no work for the working class, yet the voters seem to still reject Democrats.

I personally do not understand how a progressive candidate will make that any better. Believe me, I want M4A, I do want to raise minimum wages across the country to a livable wage, etc, but are we being realistic that a progressive candidate will truly motivate voters.

We been hearing the line, if voters are not denied their right to vote, they will vote overwhelmingly democrat, yet that isn't the case. We had the highest turnout in the nation's history. Granted, there is still on-going voter suppression going on, but I expected this to be a lot less close in order to declare what we been preaching for years about giving Americans the right to vote and inturn voters voting overwhelmingly democrat.

Bernie was on his way to winning before Obama put out the call to all the candidates to drop out to consolidate the vote. Biden was saved by black people in the south (thanks in part to Clyburn) that didn't vote for him on the General election. Bernie was ahead of the game with Latinos and Hispanics. Bernie was ahead of the game when he stopped using identity politics and went with economic populism.

While the democrats lose seats in what was supposed to be a slam dunk election, More progressives are being voted into congress.

Democrats dont want to change anything this is why they always lose the easy stuff. Slowly though, Progressives are building something. Bernie Ran because there was no one else, but hopefully someone will emerge from this new crop of progressives.

The democrats have lost the lower class white voter and that really hurts them.

Also, it seems like a lot of white suburban women vote similar to their husbands.

Those are both real problems for the democrats long term....

Biden did actually stand for something the fact that you and others continue to parrot that falsehood shows your bias.

What could he have stood for that would have changed anybodies mind?

He will have gotten a record amount of votes and you are complaining about branding, what is Trumps brand and how do you counter program that?

Florida just voted in 15hr wages and still voted for Trump so branding would not have mattered.

If you cannot turn rural voters by branding then what are you talking about?

What do you think thinb the Republicans Brand is and what should be the Democratic brand.

May not be automatic, but Trump can request a recount if it's within 1%.

That's what I see happening. Does a progressive candidate really win those voters back is my question. @DreamShook seems to think so.
