Texas will be in play as much as FL. Gives Texas a bigger seat at the table in terms national attention going forward.

The Dems will have to go more populist i.e less oriented toward educated well off somewhat liberals (against the donor class) to turn Tx. You would think that in another election in which the Dems outspend the Repugs significantly, but under perform they might, if the are not content with the status quo, change their focus.

BELIEVE ME I'm one of the best readers of constitutions and there is nothing that says in the Texas constitution that these counties can't create a faction of sorts and declare themselves a separate entity. I will read article 4 (obviously kidding but so much truth in this tweet)

Dems just need to say they're for keeping taxes low like Republicans and give lip service like they're real Christians that care about the poor because they do tax write off charity over the holidays. Convince those people you're on their side and they'll switch. To rich Repubs, it's about holding onto money and ******** on the poor while acting like you care to maintain a good public image.

Texans will break for a Democrat if there was an old school Southern Democrat to vote for. The problem is that they would have to run as Republicans in this day an age (just read an article how Bill Clinton would align closer to Republicans in the current political climate) As the Democrats move further to the left and abandon white, working voters they’ll never gain in rural areas of Texas

Nah they tried that with loving guns and being tough on crime and national defense (Iraq War authorization).

Didn't sway that vote one bit except to embolden the cravenness of the NRA and the military industrial complex.

Even now Dems like Obama haven't raised taxes for families earning less than 400k yet that stigma remains because of the dine and dash refunds Republicans are scamming away.
