Good decision. We may lose one of our best players, but with a strong message to athletes and agents out there: You can't **** around with Bayern. And I don't think Alaba did himself a favor. His primary targets Barca and Real are both in deep financial trouble and can't afford his demanded salary plus his piranha agent just out of the pocket like before the pandemic. Also both of them are not competitive in the CL right now. Hope Flick benches Alaba now more often.
Agree that Barca and Real will stay away from his ridiculous wage demands. I think he'll end up at Juve or Inter due to Italian tax regulations on foreign players, maybe he can also get his idiotic wish to play midfield granted there. No sane top club would play Alaba as a midfielder, he always disappointed there. Guy could've become one of the absolute Bayern icons and have a significant role post-career, but shat it all away.
I guess I am more on David's side. I trust his word over that of Brazzo. He is a good guy. Not necessarily getting the best advice here. It's unfortunate.
According to today's reports Alaba knew about Bayern withdrawing on Saturday/Sunday and then blatantly lied about not being informed on Monday. Not that good of a guy, if true.
Nevertheless, great player and beautiful goal tonight. Hope it gives him some relief after a difficult week.
My tennis team in Munich 10 years ago or so played against a team with him on it. (Wasn't me who played against him - I always played at position 5 or 6, this was position 3 or so.) Ralph put up a great fight, but lost to our guy in the end. Pretty good at tennis.
Ziyech doing incredibly well, never understood why more teams weren't after him. Too bad we stalled after he already agreed to join us, but guess with the triple we can't complain too much.
Kimmich out for ~three months with a meniscus tear, a huge blow to our team. With Thiago gone and Kimmich injured, we don't really have anyone capable of dictating our possession and pace of the game. Roca was brought in for that kind of style, so he'll get the chance to prove himself now.
Could have been worse, glad it's not an ACL tear. Edit: That said, would have surely been nice to still have Thiago now.
Gomez maybe done for the year has me messed up. Internationals in a pandemic is pointless, I get it if its for WC/Euro Qualification, but friendlies? I rather see players get a break from hectic scheduling. The Reds need to buy another CB in Jan hopefully Matip can make it till then.
I'm ok if elefsee takes a year off this year, as long as they make top 4. cl champions and epl winners back to back have me content. then reload for klopp's final 2 years
