hope = having zero expectations for some people

for some, it’s better to never have any championship expectations or high expectations in general than to have high expectations and fail so when the team overachieves, it’s a fun, cute little story...that’s why the 14th pick squads always get romanticized on here

Yes. Back then we had a 23 year old superstar, the best GM in the league, tons of draft picks, tons of flexibility, and an owner who didn't actively hurt the team.

Unless you'd rather be where we are now...

Top 4 in the West, minimum?

And I was not discussing THIS season and beyond, I thought you were comparing Harden's time with McHale/JBB vs. MDA.

Lol, the idea that a bunch of statisticians at premier schools like MIT are oversimplifying the NBA, and that you personally are mathematically capable of understanding why is hilarious.

I mean, you could create a Pareto optimal approach to how many jumpers Harden should take in like, 10 minutes.

I mean, if we can’t account for everything the whole field of basketball statistics is useless is one of the most idiotic tales I’ve seen on here in a LONG time.

It takes a certain kind of special to draw an imaginary conclusion like that. If you read what I said and took that away from it, I think you have bigger things to worry about. I don't know what it is, but posters here don't read or they project their own insecurities into their posts. If you're reading between the lines here, ironically, I'm saying that I'm actually agreeing with the premise of your post.

Rondo is not a good 3pt shooter neither but killed rockets with it....sometimes you gotta take the shot that is there not the shoot you're good at ..

why? what makes losspolloshermanos personally not qualify to be better at math than those statisticians?

you may spent your whole life learning how to dunk the ball and a 7 footer born at himalayas who never saw the basketball in his life may be more capable of dunking it when presented with the opportunity

    THIS....

theres such thing called psychology, individuality and flow of the game and todays analytics doesnt take it into account....

there will be times in the future when the most advanced metrics of today will be looked upon just like todays analytics looks with disdain upon basic boxscore numbers considering them misleading and those who trust them naive...

But this the same guy who is proponent of rats deserting sinking ship philosophy, he is so busy looking at EVERYTHING (so he says) that he suffers from hypermetropia.

Rockets last 4 seasons should be celebrated instead of lampooned and derided.

It is Trumpist to attack everything Morey, MDA and Harden by twisting their historic accomplishments as nothing but failures.
