I remember Parsons, Bev, Capela and House. And of the 3 you mention, Harty is most talented but even he may soon be joining the other 2 playing overseas. Like DMo.
How amazing would a guy like Jerami Grant be on this team right now with Cov and PJ. This Russ situation is just a back breaker. I wonder if they look to unload EG to clear up some cap. He was awful in the playoffs but he’s a very good defender so that would be missed. Hopefully guys like Harkless and Jamychal Green can be in play for us maybe look to bring back Trev. Obviously bringing back Uncle Jeff is a must to.
Yeah, Jerami Grant would be perfect. Same with Christian Wood. But our MLE likely not enough, and SnT is too rich for the Fertittas it seems. And I would bring back Jeff before JAM. I like Harkless more than Demarre but probably not better than PJ, even as long in the tooth as he is. Rockets could roll dice on players on teams with great development programs like Heat (6'10 Chris Silva), Raptors (6'9 Chris Boucher) or Nets (6'6 Justin Anderson). These are younger, longer, up and coming players who will be FA and are very likely to be re-signed due to their progress.
OKC and the Raptors don't have any low IQ players on the floor. I'm not saying blow it up, just trade the guy who plays all heart and no brain and gets exposed in the playoffs. The style of play is great against scrub teams half assing it in the regular season but once schemes and max effort come into play in the playoffs it becomes completely nullified. The Heat actually had a guy who plays recklessly and jacked up stupid shots like Westbrook who was great in the regular season but almost didn't play at all in the playoffs. Trading him for players who understand their own limitations, physically or skill wise would be great for this team.
Good call on Chris Boucher that's an interesting one. Wood is the absolute ideal but I doubt we have a prayer. Hopefully the bigs market gets saturated fast and we can pick some good guys up for cheap.
OKC/Raptors didn't have low IQ coaches. Nullified how? If anything he needs a coach to build on that and incorporate into the game. This was our first year with Russ with a notoriously super small ball coach. Morey is gone no one is trading with the Rockets for our sake. Besides what you trying to describe is Russ playing in OKC. When in fact Russ has not been that bad and reckless with the Rockets like when he still had KD in OKC. This is Harden's team not Russ's. He knows that. They want to win it together. If that's what Harden's wants, so be it. We will find a way too win with Russ and Harden. It's not impossible. No trade anyone would give us would make us contenders anyway. It's better to let them try and make a deep run. We just need a center. Tucker ain't it. We should trade Tucker instead of Westbrook.
Russ doesn't really strike me as the most coachable guy out there. We've seen him publicly dissing suggestions to change his style of the play many times in the past. He gets nullified by getting back down on defense and packing the paint. If the counter is that simple then he's a liability. I believe we can win a championship with Harden and a well built supporting cast. I dont even think he needs a second star. I think he can do it with good role players and a perfect system ala 2011 Dirk. On the other hand, I don't think Westbrook can ever win with the way he plays. He looked plenty reckless in the playoffs to me. He looked like a rookie out there when he's a 10+ year vet. I acknowledge that Harden wants to win with Westbrook, that's where this conversation began, and I'm saying that it's a real shame because his buddy buddy mentality is blinding him from the obvious fact that Russ just ain't it and that may sadly waste the last few years of his prime.
Ok if you want to do this. It doesn't strike you? So what? Who are you? As Russ would say. Anytime we've made the WCF he has had a star with him. Is the man not allowed to recover from Covid? Did he not get injured going into the playoff? Sick or reckless or not he still wasn't as reckless as he was years ago. You blaming Russ when you should be blaming poor coaching. Silas wouldn't have been hired if Westbrook and Harden didn't approve. Where do you get this feeling Russ is not coachable. Was it a former coach interview? Like a sure statement or just a preconceived notion? If Harden wants to lose with Westbrook that's his choice my guy. We can't have one without the other so we just have to accept it and build around that. Beside these players have no trade clauses at least Harden does. They are not going anywhere unless they want to. They feel like they have unfinished business, I feel the same. It can be done. Harden might have to come off that point position though. He can still run the offense and just let Russ use his speed to bring it up half court.
It’s always funny reading poor excuses people come up with for westbrick. We saw all year how bad he is. And it didn’t just start this year. You’ll continue to see the same going forward. Then it’ll be the same song and dance more excuses. Newsflash he just isn’t a fit next to harden no matter how much you want to blame everything but him.
Still not as bad a previous years. I didn't say he was the best decision maker but he is more useful to us than what we would get back. If Harden is backing Westbrook then so Am I. It's that simple. Despite what we have seen Harden knows Westbrook better than any of us. You can't coach heart. Ask Harden. lol
Huh. He’s been worse than previous years. Who cares if harden backs him or not. That doesn’t mean it’s right. Has harden won a ship? Don’t think so. Was he even close this year. Don’t think so. Everything harden does is the right choice? Well that’s odd
I agree that Rockets need that switchable stretch 5 but rather keep Tucker if possible, still would be great rotation player. And Rockets still need some depth. Switch defense requires at least 2 switchy lockdown players on court at all times.
Isn't playing like you're completely healthy like you always have when you're clearly sick and not in the best condition the height of recklessness? Wouldn't a smart player acknowledge the decline in physical ability and adjust his style of play accordingly? A reckless one, on the other hand, tries to do things they obviously can no longer do thus resulting in bricks and turnovers. This whole conversation started with me hoping in jest that something off court would happen so that Harden would untether himself from Westbrook. I get that if he wants him here he's staying here. I'm loyal to Harden to the end. This isn't about me saying trade Westbrook now cause I know if Harden wants him here he's here. It's more of me lamenting the fact that Harden's letting his friendship hold him back professionally. I accept it but I don't enjoy it.
No he hasn't the ball has not been in his hands as much. You don't know what you are talking about. That's impossible. What does winning a championship have to do with our situation or this conversation beside being the ultimate goal? They made it to the Finals in OKC. They were close. Probably a lot closer than Miami is trying to claim they were. Mark my words Miami won't be as good when a full 82 schedule has to be played. So by your logic yeah he is right....He's been closer than Jimmy.
What in the world are you rambling about. By far his worst season. Good luck responding to this. Wonder what the next gimmick you’ll make up
It’s tough, but I will lean towards Simmons. It’s all a moot point, Jalen Rose isn’t the Philly GM and President of Basketball Operations.
Still not as reckless as his Durant OKC days you can point to stats all day. They have always been bad. They were never elite lol ...... So answer me this.....Have James Harden and Russell Westbrook (during OKC years) gotten closer to winning a championship than the Miami Heat this past season? Of course OKC had bigs on their team then, as we soon will. So by your logic James is right. Right? Ok you win the Westbrook is terrible argument. I'm not saying he is the key to wining, but he will suffice. He will do for the time being. If you could just answer that. It would be greatly appreciated. You totally ignored that observation. lol
