Info on plaintiff that wants votes thrown out. Other news headlines from him in 2020.

Link leads to audio recording of Holtze leaving a voicemail telling Abbot to shoot to kill rioters.

Another article. He's sued Hidalgo earlier this year over mask mandate. This is what the GOP has become. Tossing out votes that hurt your team. It's one of the most un-democratic and un-American things I can think of.

I know I'm reposting but this just makes my blood boil. Usually I try to find humor on this forum and not take things seriously. This just feels like an assault on democracy and the silence over it is deafening. I don't get how people can get so upset over wearing a mask in public places around a lot of people and are willing to march to state Capitols insisting on infringed rights but are absolute crickets over this. It infuriates me that people that support GOP are silent on this. Buncha **** hypocrites.

Preserving the democratic process no matter which side you want to win is how you preserve the integrity of the United States. If you start going the path of rigging elections, you've not only sold your soul but you've sold the soul of America. This is beyond bullshit.

Considering she represents the Galleria area of Houston if this lawsuit succeeds it might take some of her votes.

This was unexpected, lol. Maybe those drive through votes were majority votes for Trump that have already been counted. They didnt even wait for monday

IMO not too unexpected, the premise was just too outlandish ... and Houstonians would not have taken that **** lightly . Calm people would've rioted.

I don't think it's that outlandish. Republicans have been doing voter suppression for decades in full view of the public with the help of conservative judges. Maybe it would have been different this time if they succeeded since these votes were already cast -- and in Texas

However, Trump and republicans have already been successful in other battleground states saying if you cast your vote absentee/by mail, if they dont arrive at a certain date despite being post marked on or before election day those votes are illegitimate. Isn't that the same as this? I think so.

Same ole scare mongering tactics. Im a moderate but Democrats are over the top at times. Just like with the Obamacare case in front of the supreme court, if they really wanted to save Obamacare they could make a simple one line edit and the entire case in front of the supreme court would be thrown out.

They obviously don't want this because they want to use Obamacare as a way to bring out votes for Biden. They also could have stalled the nomination of AMB but they wanted to use that too as a ploy to bring voters.

No party cares about its citizens. Sad world .

There wouldn't even be a tweet if there wasn't a lawsuit in attempt to throw out those votes. The fact it was even attempted shows at least one prominent member of the GOP thought it was a good idea. How does the GOP attempting to suppress votes through a partisan judge show Democrats overreact?

It's the same bullshit that Trump supporters use when they say, "He didn't mean it like that", while simultaneously touting about how much he tells it like it is and asking for Democrats to calm down. Maybe if the GOP didn't constantly try to circumvent the democratic process there wouldn't even be a reaction.

The Republicans had a partial win at the the Texas Supreme Court-- they were allowed to exceed the word limit.

When I saw this lawsuit was filed by some archconservative businessman in Houston, I knew automatically it was Steve Hotze. If Steve Hotze stood next to a turd Godzilla had pinched off, Steve would easily be the bigger piece of s***.

His brothers all run the business left them by their father. I worked there for six years in a division of technical writers they didn't much care for but we helped put together material for the engineers.

One of the brothers was all right. But the rest were so conservative they made George Bush the Lesser look like a New Dealer.

Steve Hotze is that smoldering chunk of evil the dwarves in "Time Bandits" fail to collect at the end of the movie. His comments on shoot to kill, this lawsuit. He epitomizes what Trump wants of the Trumpublicans. A canker sore.

i havent followed this closely and haven’t read the briefs or Tx SC ruling. But it see,s to me this is a state law issue and the federal district court is being asked to address state law. Now that the TSC has addressed it, it would be very hard for a federal judge to go against the highest Texas state court. If there were an ambiguity, the fed court could certify the question to the TSC. But no need for that now. What stupid f-ckery. It is stuff like this that is hardening the views of moderates like me, and that will make me more tolerant of aggressive action by the Dems should they take the executive and legislative. Just keep this crap up republicans. This is why I voted straight blue for the first time in my life. Many good harris county and appellate Republican judges stand to possiblylose their jobs even though they are superior jurists than their opponents. This is a complete referendum on right versus wrong. It is that simple.
