The final TX early voting count: 9,669,246. That's 57% of registered voters and 700k more votes than 2016 and 1.36m more than 2018. I think 70% (12M) is very possible. Beto loss by 215k vote in 2018.
Win, lose or draw - it is great to see Texans finally voting. Too many decades of low participation in Texas.
These numbers are before GOP attempts via the courts to remove at least 100,000 votes or so in Harris County, and -- we have to assume -- elsewhere to follow.
You should give our county judge a lot of credit with drive-in voting, 24 hour voting, more polling locations etc.
Astrodome, as someone I genuinely respect who has different views from mine, I want to ask: What do you think of the GOP lawsuit to invalidate some 100,000 drive-through votes, (with IDs presented, certified by the county clerk)? If you think that's a bad look, is it worth calling them up and telling them to knock it off? We have CF brethren on here who did the drive-through voting. I can't figure out a legitimate problem with that.
Some troubling context... https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...cancelled-b1477876.html?utm_source=reddit.com Looks like Trump supporters are terrified of other voices, terrified of differing opinions. If people want to know how Trump's America would look for 4 more years, what would happen, just watch this and notice how his cult cheers it on.
Garbage political party who knows they can't appeal to a majority of people, so they rely on invalidating Constitutional rights instead. This doesn't happen in other functioning democracies.
Sure it is. They shouldn't invalidate those votes. They should canvas individual votes and make the determination like they always do. I registered in my city too late one year and they let me vote provisionally but told me later that it didnt count. I think texas will be more red than anticipated without the silly tactics both sides engage in.
Thanks for the response. Interesting that you had a vote not count one year via provisional ballot. Glad we agree they shouldn't challenge these drive-through votes. Cheers.
Fine people on both sides? Please show me where Democrats are trying to take away votes or make it harder to vote and if they do shame on them.
