It worked out fine. An injury cost them a title. The plan between Harden and Morey was to ADD Jimmy Butler to Harden and Paul. Harden then wanted to add Westbrook to Paul and Harden. Paul and Harden are and were fine. Harden just wants to win.... Paul is extremely bright but grated on almost every teammate he has had.... but they still respected him.
He isn’t hated. He doesn’t have many friends that have been teammates... he gets annoying and can get nit picky... but his ex teammates all respect him. Not everyone has lots of close friendships with teammates. It doesn’t matter if players want to sit down and have a beer with Chris. What matters is if they RESPECT him. Teammates of Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe, Harden and Duncan didn’t want to go spend a weekend with them.... but they respected them, had confidence in them and sometimes feared them. The lovable great guy role is for the Fred Hoiberg’s and Bobby Brown’s of the league.
Honestly I don't think people realize that NBA players mostly have a co-worker relationship with each other. When I used to wait outside of hotels for autographs, I rarely see players hang out with each other after the game, they all go with their own friends mostly outside of basketball. They don't all have to be buddy-buddy with eachother to play great basketball.
You just have not been watching, they are playing exactly how they played in the seeding games. This team was was still figuring things out after Capela trade.
I think CP3 wants to be friends though. Didn't he say one of the reasons he left the Clippers was because they didn't hang out?
I dunno about "any". I make a lot of great, lasting friendships with coworkers, but regardless, I mostly agree. Just sayin...
