Harden doesn't like to move from his comfort zone. He would still be with OKC if Morey never traded for him.
You are just as delusional as those ESPN analyst. Morey ball and small ball not are the same. MDA = small ball Morey=moneyball (cheap, productive players). Right up cheap Tilman's alley. The whole NBA uses analytics not just Morey. Tilman is a r****d for letting him walk. You are even more delusional if you think the Rockets are better off without him. Nothing is going to change. Harden and Westbrook are going to dribble the air out the ball. If Morey did have control of how they played they wouldn't be making those dumb ass contested low percentage shots. You are mad at something you apparently don't comprehend. You should be mad at Tilman for forcing the Westbrook trade.
I think Morey did determine how they'd play under McHale because McHale was a rookie coach. He implemented the whole layups or 3 pointers approach but worked with MDA on the refined concept where MDA was the main voice.
Well i remember watching games in 1997-2010. I remember when doc coached the celtics to Championships in the late 2000's. None of these Good teams brought in rookie coaches. I hate to be the hater, but this is tell tell , that basically says rockets are not going to bring in a coach like Jeff in this time frame with so many uncertain factors, when you dont really have the nucleus to win a Championship. The rockets window is closed. Personally i would ship James Harden to the East and get pieces now to rebuild, run away for what you can get. Draft picks. This does not make any sence. What would of made since is if Rockets ask Austin to tell his dad to come here, and Rockets poney up the money to Get Doc Rivers. It just shows the rockets dont care about winning in the playoffs, or they are this close to rebuilding. Rockets probably wanted Doc Rivers as there #1 choice, but he chosed philly because they have 2 young stars, not 2 aging stars. I am sure Doc Rivers probably figured he could not coach Harden or The rockets. Plus all these coaches figured you probably cant win with 3 players eating up 80 percent of your payroll. Chris Paul signing hurt the rockets chances, and it lead to Westbrook salary, where as it hurt aspects of the team, They dont have any payroll to get solid centers or Powerfowards to compete, or players who can fill out the bench. Its a incomplete team forced to play small ball because they have there money tied up in guards lol.
I hear your concerns. McHale was an inexperienced rookie coach. Silas is a more experienced rookie. I dislike Doc, so won't comment on Doc. I'd say they need an Adebayo or AD lite to make it to the Finals. There is no shortcut, even with Popovich they are going to get bounced.
We didn't always play small ball. Not until Yao got hurt and definitely not as much as we did with MDA on the scene. People really believe what they hear on TV. It is quite hilarious. They are like little parrots repeating talking points.
Well the biggest thing is if the rockets could of put the right nucleus around James Harden, they might of won a championship. If a rookie coach like silas can motivate Harden then thats great. But i just don't know if Rockets ever put the right team around James. James needs a dominate Powerfoward and slashing small forward with a bench around him. He also need to have the ball in his hands to be effective, he once avg like 11 apg that one year in 2016 as point.
That was always the game plan. Adelman implemented it masterfully because they are high percentage shots which is essentially Princeton offense (high percentage shots, layups/open shots) . It's the players that decide on how to take those shots in game. Rockets need to stop taking bad shots and blaming GM's and coaches. Yes MDA was and is bad at substitutions and probably wasn't the answer, but at some point Rockets have to make better decisions and stop pump faking driving and passing out. That is literally their only play. If a coach can't get his players open shots or better looks by running plays if you are not able to score within 7 seconds or less. Which happens a lot when Harden is doubled. You don't need to be a coach anymore. People are mad at Morey for wanting high percentage shots. Most teams that win take those high percentage shots. All he does is provide the info. If we hit X amount of 3's we'll likely when. He doesn't say how or when to shoot it, or to only shoot 3's. All Championship teams rely on 3's heavily. We are not doing anything different except missing them! He provided info on what the other team didn't like defensively and so forth. The thought that Morey is some how controlling the offense is absurd and misrepresented. The guys need a real coach.
The point was not 3 pointers but cheap role players that can only hit them at 35% clip or worse other than Ben Mclemore and PJ. Couldn't hit the side of a barn when it mattered, a lot of those 0-11 droughts. And taking them at a Guinness record book quantity. People are mainly mad he couldn't get a Redick or a Seth Curry to save his life or Duncan Robinson. Why could other teams get them?
03-07 Yao and Tmac tandom was good, just not great with JVG.. Tmac had deficiency that stood out every year. 08-09 Yao and Ron artest was the only team that took the lakers to 7 games, and ran by Aldeman. James harden and his Crew made it 2 Western Confrence finals twice, was a better crew, but James is also just really gifted, but sometimes looked lost against top teams, resulting in not getting to the finals with Mchale. Mikes 2017-18 Rocket team was great, playoffs was great, but Chris paul Health neglected harden of a trophy. That was the year the rockets should have the trophy for sure.
I thought about it. Yao and Mac delivered the 22 winning streak, while it's not a championship yet it was still historic. Their version of championship.
Saw an interview where he said he was in charge of 1/5 of the offense. Each assistant was assigned an equal part of the offensive plan. Credit to Tilman....saved a ton of money by not paying Morey and MDA and hiring the cheapest of cheap while selling the fans on false bravado like he does at the trade deadline each year. He’ll leak to some news outlet that we were that close to getting JVG and the deal fell through on the other side.
On a side note....does anyone know if Silas stands or sits for most of the games and is there any video of him arguing with a ref while he coached??? Just doesn’t seem to have a fiery personality, but could be wrong.
you’re a Mavs fan, u shouldn’t even be allowed to say my name leave and go dick ride Dallas like u said u were going to, and leave the conversations to the real Rockets fans
