I had a plasma for ten years no burn in
No burn in for OLED either.
LG has many settings to stop burn in. The fireworks screen saver, art work screen saver or will turn the tv off if you there’s no image

just don’t blast settings to vivid , which nobody does

17 days on Modern Warfare in HDR. 100 contrast + 100 lamp. No burn-in on a red screen. The LG 9-series and CX have 3 new features to combat burn-in, not including the fireworks Tinman mentioned. I don't hear a lot about burn-in from the 8-series either.

It seems like we might have put most cases of burn-in behind us in 2017. And even then, it's not like everyone is complaining about it. People that experience burn-in post about it online. Those who do not, never do, it's not something you START a thread about.

We need less talk about TVs and sound equipment, and we need more talk about BUGSNAX!

I'm excited to try out the crabapples.

Its definitely related because the NEXT GEN systems are HDMI 2.1 . Cutting edge .

There's no point getting these systems on the Dynex 720p TV you picked up on Black Friday 5 years ago.

Do games load slower on the Dynex 720p TV?

I don't game much, and time is the biggest factor for me. I may get a next-gen system to improve load times as playing games is more important to me than waiting to play games even if I don't have a top of the line TV for gaming currently. I expect No Man's Sky is a much better game if warping between systems didn't take so long.

the people want to know what TV to get for their new $500 system.
    it goes hand in hand.

    You just signed James Harden.
Yet you don't have a NBA arena and no ball and no teammates.

The TV doesn't have anything to do with loading time.

However the point of next generation on displays is
    1. 4k resolution
    2. HDR - brighter and higher range of colors
    3. response time (controller input to screen output ) - must have for shooters and fighting games
    4. frame rates - smoother action, new systems/TV can go up 120 frames per second on a 120hz display

Depends on the person. I care more about time and games. I want to be in my game as quick as possible, and I don't want the console hardware to get overtaxed like the xbox one does in Battlefront 2 Multiplayer. With the time I put into games, the 120 frames per second wouldn't help me much...though the console not being overtaxed by 40 players would (Granted this could also be EA's crappy servers that just can't handle updates to the game made since 2018).

the stead fps means your games will run smooth and not overtaxed. the smoothest would be if you had a 120hz panel instead of a 60hz panel and you set it up correctly on the system.

It's like car salesmen trying to push every possible upgrade and telling you it's a lifesaving necessity.

The biggest step-up you'll see this gen will be the loading times and open world improvements due to the better ram and SSD I/O, graphical leaps won't even be close to the step-up from PS3 to PS4.

yes people need to play the next generation systems on at least a 4k display.

anyone telling you can play it on an old tv and say it's awesome is like saying you should plug your PS4 into an old Zenith CRT

I didn't even know I wanted HDR until I saw it. Doesn't mean you need it though, just sayin.

I always doubt the capability of these new consoles especially for 4k. Even the $1300 RTX 390 can barley get more than 60fps on max settings.
