Since suppression doesn't seem to be working well enough, abbott tries intimidation... thanks trump! https://www.expressnews.com/news/lo...m&utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_medium=referral
Yeah because Trump supporters are totally the ones who tend to riot. Biden voters would never do such a thing!
The second battle of Jade Helm! Dearest Margaret, Today we marched into downtown Houston. The resistance was light but we have been warned by the Governor to expect hordes of violent leftist fightIng to take away the votes of our proud Republicans, and stuff the boxes with the ballots of the dead. I hope sincerely that I will live to see you once again. Your truly, Beaureguard
Did he site ANY reason or evidence to this ridiculous executive order? Also - last time that Abbott made news for clearly trying to rig the election in an autocratic third world type of way, it SUPER activated Texas voters with record turnout in the early days of the election. There is a powder keg of non-voters who could just wake up and say I've had enough of the right wing thugs that brazenly rig Texas politics to keep their power. This could backfire on the Republicans big time with this thuggish nonsense.
Who is “the left”? Like every single one of us? Quote please? Remind me of when I said I was going to riot?
I dont get the outrage. Who are the troops intimidating exactly? Why not be prepared for the sake of public safety?
In trying to be sarcastic you inadvertently arrived at the truth. In the last few weeks alone, right wing terrorists tried to kidnap and hold hostage the governor of Michigan and were indicted for instigating the most violent riots in Minnesota and I'm not even mentioning the teenage virgin murders of Kenosha. The sooner we cut these cancers out the better. No one can stop what's coming.
It's probably the years of documented Republican voter suppression tactics across the country. All the lying about voter fraud, basically all the lying about everything to undermine the election results. The President of the United States encouraging his looney, conspiracy theorizing supporters to go to the polls to intimidate voters. Silly dictator-like stuff like that.
Oh yea, sure. Public safety, because in the history of our elections there have been so many instances of danger (well, ignoring the health risks of this one, but...). I am sure it has nothing to do with the current president (and governor) who has been attacking our democratic processes and calling for people to go to the polling locations to "monitor" the election among other statements and actions to suppress voting. If this was some third world country where the government was sending troops to polling locations we would be outraged. But here *we* are now...
Ok snowflake. Do you not see the riots in these cities now? Multiple cops hurt in philly overnight.... If trump wins, I could imagine blm and the rest of your radical groups going nuts. Its 2020 and nothing is status quo. Put your big boy pants on and go vote. Those national guard folks are not your enemy.
The only people who have something to fear about the national guard being present are those looking to start trouble. Just go and cast your vote and then go home. Why isn’t it as simple as that?
It should be as simple as that and it should be that no national guard is sent, unless that happen before. Did this happen in 2018? In 2016? What is so special about 2020? Why is the guard spokesman in the dark? You would think there is a reason and it would be communicated to at least the cities mayors. "Jones added that he doesn't have a specific reason why Abbott ordered the troops to deploy for the election, nor does he have any information on whether or not troops had been sent to protect cities—or polling places—in the past." As for fear, isn't it the FEAR of some future riot that is why some think this is a good idea (and not ask the basic question of the mission and look at history)? That is the fear at play here, isn't it?
Is Philly in Texas? Trumpanzee geography? Maybe they'll go nuts and try to kidnap a governor, topple a government? Maybe massacre people in a school? Probably, good point.
