No I didn’t read any of that nor have I looked into what your talking about, I’m saying a lot of your post are unintelligible and belligerent, and I’m saying this as a person, nothing to do with CF threads or politics, if you notice similar behavior in your personal life, whether your dealing with drugs/alcohol or not, maybe talk to a GP if you can.

In general small business owners and farmers work hard.

I have known some small business owners that did not work hard but they were the exception and their enterprises failed.

As for business owners, often it is their passion so giving more effort comes with the territory.

Small business is very important in the USA.

As for farmers, in general they work hard. I have known some lazy farmers on larger farms that rely on immigrants or cheap labor. However most work long hours.

To hazard a serious answer. Pgab doesn't like equating subsidies with welfare because he believes subsidy recipients, like farmers, still work hard. I would assert welfare recipients also work hard. I know people, especially this year, on unemployment benefits or on food stamps or even social security and they bust their asses. I see people working jobs so crappy they don't pay a living wage. I see people hustling to find work. I've seen people doing gig economy stuff or contract jobs to supplement their meager incomes. I've seen people work off the clock to avoid getting laid off. I've seen people still working when they're 70. These folks aren't lazy, they just don't have a skillset that's rewarded by our economy. Having your work ethic compared to a welfare recipient's is no insult.

 

this is the same person who had argued that Ivanka Trump was a consultant, even tho she is an officer of the family-owned Trump co and draws a salary

I gave up on that thread when it blew up to however many pages - I couldn't keep up. But, the attitudes I've seen has not been denigrating farmers or other small business owners as being lazy and living on handouts. I've seen people say that farmers complain about the welfare benefits extended to the poor and unemployed while benefiting from subsidies at the same time. That's an accusation of hypocrisy and not a denigration of their work habits.

 

I could be wrong, but I think there was a misunderstanding with what Gifford wrote. He essentially took the words that Kushner said about blacks and changed them to refer to rural whites to demonstrate how that could be said by a liberal about conservatives.
