Deshaun has improved, but Tim Kelley still treats him like a rookie QB coming out of a college Veer offense.
Should be throwing the ball like 40+ times a game from here on out. The running game is atrocious, so we should mimic one with some short passes early so Deshaun can get in a rhythm.
Always hated throwing the ball more than 35+ a game. Can't believe I'm going to side with this line of thought. Or maybe attempt to run the ball with someone else from the Practice Squad. smh instead of Johnson.
I mean he kinda almost brought them back against Steelers without much help from Henry. I don’t know if he could or not, but he’s playing well. I was actually pretty happy with deshauns play individually this game. Only had a couple throws where he missed or didn’t lead them. We’re just not very good right now. I imagine this is what it would be like without Henry for the Titans, neither QB can do much.
You just saw Watson vs Tannehill. Watson outplayed him. Tannehill is effective because of the playaction from the Titans run game. If he had to carry them without Henry, you will see the decline in his performance.
You realize not every game is against the Texans where you don’t have to do anything except run right? You keep saying Tannehill wouldn’t do anything without talent, what is Watson doing without talent? His individual numbers are good but we’re not winning.
And it’s not like Tannehill didn’t throw for 360 yds and 4 tds against the Texans either lol. This is my whole premise, you’re hating on a dude that is balling just to make Watson look better. I don’t get it. Either way I’m tired of talking about Tannehill.
Yep, this season is gonna be an asterisk season cause of teams getting infected... so, I’d rather have him heal up real good from all those sacks over the last two years
Looked up the numbers through week 6. 69 of 204 pass attempts have been play action for Titans. For 653 yds out of 1537 yds. Best in the league in bad throw % YardS per play action play are on par with the rest of the league. Weird number is Texans have 18 pass plays on RPO for 180 yds, run the 8th most in the league in terms of RPO. Should pass more out of the set.
Very reminiscent of Schaub's numbers in 2010 with a higher completion %, higher Ypa, absolute no Arian Foster, no system structure and a offensive line that doesn't know who to block half the time due to that lack of structure. Imagine going to the Chiefs and saying: you know that jolly man that draws up plays where even the back up qb can throw and complete jump passes with receivers running wide open? Yeah we're taking him out. Your bail out receiver and security blanket Travis Kelce... we traded him for Alfred Blue and a 3rd. We're also installing a new system where it's more like Backwards Chinese so you can forget about being you. Also, no ketchup in the pre game meals. Breh, why you regressed?
Last 5 games have been good, still some of the things he has to work on but really good numbers. Besides the Tennessee game, there really was never a game we were in. Always playing catch up leads to more throws and less running (probably the best for this team) Look at teams and records for top 7 passer ratings. Wilson Rodgers Carr Tannehill Mahomes Watson Herbert-who is ballin like Watson did his rookie year
