To my knowledge only Lue has picked another team over rockets and thats bc he stuck with the team he is currently with. Seems like they interviewed everyone they wanted to and are deciding between those guys. Rockets are a perennial championship contender with a perennial mvp candidate. Name 1 job that is available now or may be available next year that would would be more attractive.
Would you boycott if Til and Pat were named head coach and top assistant? It's called streamlining, baby.
If it really takes you this long to hire a coach after you interview you them all then you're a bad organization, Tilman.
Threads like this are amazingly arrogant and ignore the biggest elephant in the room. Hey buddy do you know if there's event a date set for an upcoming NBA start for next season or when arenas open back up? It's like asking somebody to invest into oblivion without knowing the details of a return.
Arrogant? Coaching is A LOT more then just showing up the games. Yes the schedule is important but the off season is were championship are won and lost. Right now, well look at us, the league is happening and we are not open for business because it saves money / can’t make a decision / no one will work for us. Hard times as a Rocket fan with the new ownership. Missed opportunities are never good.
Shut Up and Listen is the name of TillyTita’s hit novella. It’s a play on the title of that shovelware. They need to hire a coach and waiting is dumb. If they narrowed it down to the three, two weeks ago they should have had a decision days ago. It’s clear they are lowballing.
This is why I believe the decision has already been made. Just not announced officially. Perhaps 90% set, with candidate having this weekend to think about it before full commitment. You don’t keep the candidates waiting too long, have all left hanging in the dark. They tend move on due to impatience and frustration. I mentioned that they probably announce by this coming Thursday. Oct. 29th, avoids Friday news dump and Halloween activities drowning out the news of hire. Draft set tentatively for Nov 18th.......gives new GM and new coach a look over prospects....perhaps eye a second round pick, either by buying their way into the draft or by trade of current player for pick(s). Approximately 20 days of working together on the teams direction. Input from both GM-coach. Better to have options than be forced to go only by free agency. Rookie contracts might be preferred for center behind Tucker - Jeff Green (re-signing) or back up PG behind Westbrook.....possible exit of Eric Gordon- Rivers.
Wouldn't be surprised if Stone was teh opposite of Morey, a dude that never tweets. Just speculation. You'd never know what he thinks.
Like Lucas wouldn't stay with JVG as head coach. Its obvious someone smarter than Lucas should make final coaching calls. You still can have him to babysit Harden just don't give him HC job for ****s sake. They just don't want to have a coach just like Irving and Durant in Brooklyn and then they gonna wonder why they can't get over the hump. Just because LeBron could do it with Ty Lue(no coach) it doesn't matter all of you stars can do it without one. If Lucas is picked I won't give one single **** about James Harden
I would simply call it gullible and probably he is someone who blindly follows Tilman's words. He is right but you have to exclude postseason, the Rockets are a perennial regular season contender, simple as that. If they have bad luck with injury, they are not even that.
Obviously it's going to be Lucas so James and Russell can chill for the rest of there contract and go to striper clubs on b2b nights.
Instead of taking a long time to make a decision no one will like, would have been that different if they had made a quick decision that no one liked?
I think it’s Lucas. It’s probably the fact that Lucas is busy with BJs funeral occasions. They’ll probably sign him this week
