Cool. Yeah, obviously not, but again I'm not giving him any credit. I'll just sit satisfied knowing he didn't kill it.

What Biden talks about, it is a concern for O&G workers. I mean, Trump did at least think about how he's going to help O&G get through COVID. Republicans also tried to put O&G bailout packages as part of the bailout bills, they just got X'd in the final revisions, AFAIK.

Trump needed to hit a homerun or have Biden meltdown to have a chance at closing the gap. He looks more normal but he lied as much, if not more. Most of his position are unpopular while most of Biden's is more popular. Biden won the populism game. Trump probably won't the image game just because he was so horribly bad last time. All in all, nothing much has changed.

Oil and gas is obviously important but Houston’s far more diversified than Detroit at its height. Even if is green new deal is implemented it will be decades before the oil and gas industry is gone. In the meantime even Exxon Mobile is investing heavily in renewables. Houston is still well positioned as a port, and the medical center to weather a transition away from fossil fuels.

Joe will be back in the basement tomorrow. Joe puts a lid on things at 9 in the morning. No questions (unless you're asking about his favorite ice cream flavor)

I said it weeks ago how Biden was going to win this election by a landslide. Nothing has changed. Trump losing the majority of suburban white women and seniors cannot be made up elsewhere.

This is going to be a Tsunami blue wave. WH, House and Senate.

He may have forgotten it but it appears you never learned it to begin with. There was no silent majority uprising then, and there won't be now.

That continues to be forgotten by people. Obama left an excellent economy when he left office, and that was after handling a gigantic economic crisis that nearly broke the financial sector and the country. trump lies about that as he lies about everything. trump passed a huge tax cut for the rich that blew the lid off the deficit long before the pandemic reared it's head.

I'm not saying that out loud. Call me superstitious.

They are going to call you a socialist no matter what. who cares. (I agree Bernie should have never said he was a democratic socialist. people are dumb). You Warren supporters think you can sell your soul and cozy up to democrats that dont want you. They dont want you! How many times has Warren embarrassed herself trying to be pragmatic? She did it with Hilary she did it again with Biden. She hasn't gotten anything trying to comprise her ideals.

M4A is the biggest thing Progressives want, that will take time. I said a couple of things progressives want would benefit the country - raising the min wage, making the rich pay their fair share, redirecting military spending can be done now.

Trump had as many drone casualties in his first 2 years as Obama did in his entire 8 years as president and then he proceeded to reverse Obama's executive order to make drone strike casualties public.

I agree that Houston is screwed. But oil price (decided by demand/production) is what's going to kill Houston. If demand were higher and production was lower, we'd be talking about a whole different game.

Negative oil prices are unprecedented. Nobody cares what happened in the 80s, we're seeing a completely different world right now.

The rich heavy tax cut made companies irresponsible despite the record high stock prices. A lot of the valuations were driven by stock buybacks that CEOs took low interest loans out for. Many corporations are so at-risk that in March, the Fed had to become a blanket guaranteer of junk debt in order to prevent a panic in the markets.

2T in added pre-covid national debt is a steep price tag, and it would've handed Trump an easy (and still rigged) re-election.

That tax cut was also the Most Rigged and Gamed Tax Cut in American History (ugh). They claimed it would pay for itself (it didn't pre-covid) and payments balloon after the tax provisions expire.

So it's a bit of a trap Republicans lay to frontload corporate gifts, backload the true costs, and then dare the challenger to promise not to raise taxes.

that's different than starting a war, or low level never ending conflicts that turn into cluster ****s like syria which has europe completely splintered.

it's a low bar to achieve. Try to not start a war. Which presidents have passed that? Trump.

He in fact supported it despite O&G causing the worst US environmental crisis in the gulf of mexico.....

Pretty pathetic you are so partisan you can't give mean old Obama any credit despite the overwhelming evidence.

What has Trump and Senate Republicans done to help O&G under COVID ? Was the trade war helpful in raising steel prices and alienating trading partners who need relatively inexpensive and reliable energy?

I keep hearing about the diversification, but I don't see it. Yes the medical center is big, but how will be able to pay for the hospital without jobs? I don't think houston will be much different than Detroit.
