I went to the same one I think. Went at 2 thinking it would be a low wait time I can’t complain about 30 minutes or so prepared for worse. I think everyone is trying to go at off times and it’s actually making wait times during what you’d think would be high traffic times shorter. At the end of the day I did my part and I feel good about it. On to the third!
Well, as I've mentioned, generally speaking, if you're voting in an affluent neighborhood, your wait time will not be too bad. Go vote somewhere off of Fondren and you better have strong feet*. *EDIT: Which I don't, particularly.
No argument here, and I appreciate all the voters that are weathering the long lines to make sure their voice is heard.
It sort of begs the question why do we have an election "day" in the modern era with a hundred million voters. These extended early voting periods seem to be very convenient. Anybody waiting until Nov. 3 is probably making a mistake. If we are going to have one, on a Tuesday, everyone needs to be able to get off work to do it, "National Voting Holiday"
Excellent Points! One Day is not really feasible anymore, love the early voting but that last REAL ELECTION DAY should be a holiday so everyone can make sure there voice is heard
Fell off a ladder and have been in the hospital for awhile. Got released and went and voted today. Go Joe and Go Mj!!
I have a plan to vote, and it's a great plan. When I vote, you are going to see it cos it's going to be huge. It's going to be great. People already telling me what a great vote it is. They say they have never seen a vote like this before. It will be the best vote ever
I don’t remember the fall or the 4 days after. Still not sure what happened or how, but just thankful I’m alive.
Scary. Hope you are feeling good! Props on voting. ps. I'm in the voting thread, so I might as well mention that my ballot went in and was officially accepted a week ago..
I voted yesterday took me about 10 minutes total after work, there were about 3 people ahead of me, no lines but when I left a line was forming had about 10 people. I am embarrassed to say at this late in life it was my 1st time voting, just never really cared before, I thought it would not really affect me one way or another and had been mostly right. I was surprised I was already registered to vote at least I had done that in the past. Was kind of surprised that a lot of white males were voting about 40% don't know what that really means. I am in a rural are of south central Texas.
Good god, RayRay. Glad you're doing better, but that's really scary. Take good care of yourself. (Glad the fall didn't reset your political compass. )
Got my vote in today finally. In and out in five minutes (that's not what she said). There were two people in line. When I went outside there was a black family taking pictures. A couple with their teenage'ish/twenty'ish sons. I have to say that made me smile. The dumb old broad in the polling place made me take my mask off which of course defeats the purpose of wearing the mask. I just did it really quickly instead of berating her. I kind of regret not berating her now though. Grr!
The crusty, old dude with a bad attitude working at my voting place asked me if I had voted twice. Shook my head and thought about saying something but bit my tongue. Some people are just not worth your time.
1-1 I voted in person though. I didn't want my democrat mail carrier to dump my ballot in the dumpster.
