No but he was the heart on Laker Nation. It's no secret that he thought himself next to Jordan. One thing about Kobe is he was not like LeBron he was more like Jordan in the fact he won with what he had and was loyal to his franchise. He almost requested a trade but didn't. LeBron doesn't have this old school mentality. That don't make him less great to a degree just a different breed and shouldn't be compared to Jordan because he lacks this mentality.

Kobe was not the heart of the Lakers in 1999-2000.

and Kobe loyal to a franchise? Lmfao!
The same Kobe that refused to play for anyone but the Lakers leading up to the draft? Would he have been loyal to Charlotte? It’s easy to be loyal to a great franchise in a a top tier city.

Even then when the going got tough he wanted out of LA.

The only reason he went back on his trade request is because his franchise got him an all-star.

At least, like a man he let it be known ahead of time. They don't change their mind like women when things get tough. Kobe almost left but at least he stuck around for the bad until they finally made a move to keep him happy. If LeBron got Cleveland to the Finals and Kobe didn't get the Lakers to the finals.....why leave? Maybe not for you guys but for me it definitely puts a * for me. Yes he is his own man and will do it his way but that is why he shouldn't be compared. He literally made this normal for players to do this. Yes it was done before but players were at the end of their career. Prime AD asking for a trade, PG requesting? It's ridiculous.

a real man doesn’t even entertain the thought of leaving, much less let it be known.

a real man doesn’t ask for trades for all-stars. A real man goes into battle with smush parker, and wins, and makes no excuses. That’s the real old school mentality.

He didn't make any excuses unlike Lebron lol

Come on though, really? Smush Parker? Kobe couldn't get jiggy with that ****. I bet if Kobe had Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, Richard Jefferson, and Mo Williams he could have won. lol

I mean Lebron couldn't even stay in Miami, poor Dwade had to sign with CHI for that payday because he knew he was on his way out.

Kobe lost a finals with Shaq, Gary Payton, and Karl Malone. No way he wins with Mo Williams.

Real men don’t ask for help at all. That’s weak ****.

Real men def don’t threaten to play overseas if they don’t get drafted by the team they want.

Oh you mean the corpse of a 94-95 Rockets beaten Malone and the corpse of Gary Payton lol Detroit was good and nimble. Kobe didn't want to be part of Lakers nursing home.

That team was stacked regardless. Dellavedova, Frye, Shumpert, JR Smith, Tristian Thompson, Verajo

I never said there was anything wrong with asking for a trade if you gave the franchise your all. Lebron had plenty in the tank still. The problem comes from young superstars in the prime of their career jumping ship so quickly to predesignated destination. This is a bad precedence to set for all franchises not in California. At least Kobe let it be known upfront much like Francis did. So by your definition asking for a trade make you not a man....what does that make Dream?

First, it’s not obvious. In that scenario, the team that is 6-0 would/could have won against the 6-7 team.
Second, Comrade Lebron is 4-6. 4 out of 10, has never done it without another top tier player or 2.

    Not my definition. Your definition.

I don’t have a problem with a player taking his own career in his hands, and not leaving it up to GM’s.

Hakeem should’ve done what Lebron did, and he’d have 7 rings. Nobody really cares about loyalty. The fans and media don’t give extra points for it. Hakeem should be the undisputed GOAT, but he’s not remembered as because he only has 2 rings.
