He and I have been FB pals for years....we share a lot of common interests....theater, video games...bball...ping pong....and obviously the Rockets..... He is going to be fine....I am sure of it......the Rockets though....meh!!! DD
Yeah, that was classic ClutchFans. @DaDakota, we all laughed, but it was a great moment for you. We’ll never forget Daryl Morey. I hope when he writes a book about his NBA years, and I don’t doubt that he will someday, that we hear the inside scoop on what he wanted to do, and what ownership dictated that he do. That’s a story I want to hear. Who knows? Maybe he’ll mention @Clutch and ClutchFans. It wouldn’t surprise me.
He left because he was sick of working for Tilman Fertitta, and having to deal with an owner that waffles on trades like the one for Green and Templeton.... who wouldn't pay the tax and then blamed Daryl...... an owner that wasted time trying to under pay his head coach in front of the entire world.... one that insisted that Chris Paul be dealt...... and an owner that said the GM would pick the new coach, but then stuck his nose in at the last minute and decided to go a different direction....... an owner that insisted that his son follow around the GM like a puppy to everything thing that was going on....... Couple that with the fact that Daryl has enough money and his kids are sitting out a year for COVID and you have a GM that decided it really wasn't worth it. He will never publicly admit it because it isn't smart business, but he is glad to no longer be dealing with Tilman.
james is prolly next to go...i see him going to some shitty franchise, and regularly gut us with his new shitty playmates
Morey stepped down 4 hours ago and I still have to fight my way onto these crowded servers. Clutchfans needs a BIG server update.
You figured this might happen after the Hong Kong comment earlier in the year. It's Tilman kowtowing to China for Revenue.
Today is a wonderful day. I can not be more happier for Morey. Can't wait to see this dumpster keep burning.
I can't wait for the next NBA season to start because I know I will enjoy every moment watching how this pathetic franchise will fail.
honestly Morey is just being smart. there re no good outcomes for houston over the next few years and there are other things in life that are important, as this pandemic is showing us. cap hell, no assets, very little flexibility, no picks, an owner who doesnt want to spend to win; despite having two super max mvps we are not contenders and if you trade one of those guys you'll piss the other off. you coming back for that sh#t?
