Thanks. But I think a 17 year old who punches girls, consumes right wing memes daily instead of doing school work and takes a semiautomatic rifle to a riot because of his media consumption seems like a candidate for some mental health services.

Ask if you would be proud of him if he was your son.

Disgusting .... but has no bearing upon the facts of this case.

He's not charged with beating up a girl , he's charged with killing two people and wounding a third.

Except under FL law Trayvon Martin had the right to stand his ground against what he saw as a threat of a person following him who isn't law enforcement.
Whether stupid or not the precedent has been established that you can pursue someone who you think is breaking the law. I thought it was stupid of Zimmerman to follow Martin but he did and he was acquitted.

Except Martin didn't simply "stand his ground". He attacked.

You know damn well this is apples to oranges.

Rittenhouse fled until it was no longer possible.

when they created the pledge of allegiance, they didn’t create it with black people in mind

it was really “with liberty and justice for all who aren’t black”

Wonder if republicans will cry out "socialism" when their hero used a COVID-19 stimulus check to buy his assault rifle to shoot people...

Isn't he a minor so he shouldn't be getting a check OR be allowed to purchase a gun?

If they can't get him for murder. They should be able to get him for gun crimes. And it is going over state lines it should be a federal crime.

Parents received more money depending on number of kids. Perhaps his mom gave him "his share".

Richie from silverspoons helped bail him out. Devastated how some grow up and become what they become. I should have never researched the "McFarland" where are they now. My favorite Diaz brother in the movie became a detective...... and a drug trafficker on the side. Arrested in 2016 serving time in prison.
    Anyways , Silver spoons.

Sorry I missed this earlier. In the Trayvon Martin case he was being followed by someone who was trying to apprehend him. Given that Zimmerman wasn't LEO he's not empowered to do so and Martin is under no obligation to comply or retreat. You can defend yourself from someone who isn't LE trying to apprehend you and under FL law you can stand your ground.

Further under FL law Zimmerman has no obligation to retreat either and apparently that he was trying to apprehend Martin (who wasn't committing a crime) was seen as a valid.

Again Rittenhouse might have a claim that he acted in self-defense that said following the same principle that said that Zimmerman could pursue Martin because he believed he committed a crime and apprehend him that means that would justify trying to stop Rittenhouse. Both Rittenhouse and the people trying to stop him had the right to be on the street and to confront each other.

This is why I argue that stand your ground laws are very problematic and muddy the idea of self-defense.
