Seems to me that by only allowing the "he's a murderer" side to be presented on social media that the "tribunal" (jurors) may be tainted by that shaping of the narrative / public opinion.
Not their job, and I have seen more posts that's 'he's a hero' so does that taint the jury the other way? Matters of Law are the responsibility of the courts. The defense attorneys will be in charge of looking for jury bias. The Judge will instruct the jury to consider only the facts of the case. That's just everyday for the last 250 years.

I don't think so, charging can be defensive, really your only choice if the assailant has a gun, shot someone and threatening by action to shoot other people... noble in fact.
When he's running away from you ? .... Chasing him down is "defensive"? Along with everything else , Logic is broken in 2020. Seems to me chasing down a guy with a gun as asking to get your arm blown off or your guts shot out.
Consider the Trayon Martin Case. Zimmerman didn't chase but he was following Martin with the intention of apprehending. Considering he was acquitted that shows then that chasing Rittenhouse down could still be considered a legal action. This goes back to why I felt that the Trayvon Martin case was very problematic as it would cloud what is self-defense but now it's a precedent.
I don't see these two things as "the same" in that it was Martin who attacked Zimmerman while "The chasers" attacked Rittenhouse. Still , chasing down a dude with an AR15 is absolutely totally and completely stupid - ask the guy who got gut shot (hell of a way to die) and the dude who got his arm shot off .... ask them if they would do it again!.

The point here is a simple one: You all demonized him for "carrying a weapon across state lines" - basically labeling him a criminal before a shot was fired. This investigation proves otherwise - He didn't carry a firearm across state lines.
