It's one of those moments where you can completely understand everyone being frustrated, but you also have to be realistic. You take the chance and hope that Yuli snaps out of it given what he can be when he's hot. A) His defense is big B) Diaz isn't exactly some big upgrade. You have to take your chance and just hope he turns it around. Worked for Springer in the world series in '17.
Keep it a 1 run game. Springer bats 3rd right? Capable of hitting a homer. Also if players gets on, give guys like Altuve, Bregman, Brantley a chance.
And if took him out for a pinch hitter, who do we have? Reddick, Straw, Toro. Not great. Only thing you can say is Staw could beat out a dp
Into the dugout offline? Bounce off the backstop offline? Because anything near the plate that's catchable is an out.
As silly as it sounds our offense has been “productive” it’s just been either bad luck or Yuli at the worst possible time. But yeah history would say their pitching staff is going to make close games tough.
Yup, and honestly I'd have more faith in Yuli actually making contact than straw. Just gotta hope he snaps out of it. We sure need it.
Pitching has been good...we have had enough base runners to score 5 or runs. Reminds me of the games JV pitched his ass off and we gave him no run support.
