Harp on this point all you want, but Miami can just get AD to switch onto Bam, and have Bam run the offense from the top of the key. This takes away any sort of paint defense because there's suddenly no one in there to block a shot, since Howard isn't in there.

Easy for Herro and Butler to penetrate and score.

Hell, even if AD decides to stick to Butler, someone on the Heat suddenly has the height advantage.

    Caruso renders Dwight obsolete.

For some reason it took till the last game of the season (not including the Games 2-5 interlude vs us) for Vogel to recognize the best 2 big men in the league are James and Davis.

This was obvious at game 1...of the regular season. I don't get the relentless orthodoxy.

That's a great point about LeBron and Davis being the best bigs in the league, never heard that, but McGee and Howard played a major role because they saved LeBron and Davis from unnecessary punishment down low. Not sure about their contract situations, but I am sure both LeBron and Davis will push for their return or suitable replacements.

This situation of 3 month break plus weirdo bubble is pretty well suited for mid 30s LeBron, but guy is the goddam goat for a reason. Give him Dwight give him anybody, as long as he has a running buddy or 2 he's gonna make it to the finals.

so wrong.... this series is a sweep if they played AD at the 5 from the start. the rockets would have taken them to at least 6 if they stayed big also. the analytics have shown all year with AD at the 5 they are unstoppable. they are like us defensively except with size. on offense there is little you can do with shooters around bron and AD and no big clogging up the middle.

we have the right idea but not the personnel to pull it off.

The "right idea" is always there. Nothing new. Skills, size, and speed win. It's just that players with all three of these things are so rare. It's pretty hard to find those "personnel" to pull it off. If you have two of them on the same team, it's pretty hard to beat.

    It’s skillball, not smallball.

It’s not ideal to have 100 million locked up in Point Guards, but it’s also incredibly difficult to procure skilled bigs that don’t drag you down everywhere else. IE, bigs that are significantly worse than PJ Tucker.

Here is to hoping we can add some more skilled size with EG’s contract.
