    I disagree.

Covington is not an overvalued asset. He is arguably Rockets 2nd best player due to fit.

No debate that Russ is Rockets 2nd most talented player but his fit is not ideal.

As expected, Orlando is itching to re-acquire All Star Oladipo but they are reluctant to give up future assets. Magic desperate for more spacing and 3 pt shooting while creating more playing time for their young 4's (Isaac, Okeke plus vet Aminu).

    https://orlandomagicdaily.com/2020/10/09/orlando-magic-must-not-repeat-same-mistakes-rebuild/

Indiana is ready to move on from an All Star coming off injury AND has ongoing issues with Pacers FO. First Pacers insulted him with lowball extension, then questioned his heart when he initially refused to play in bubble. Dipo questioned IND about being serious championship contenders. Now Dipo is saying he wants change of scenery and would prefer to be closer to Florida.

Rockets need to get longer, younger and more athletic.

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y2cxmc6z

    ORL: Victor Oladipo, Ben McLemore
IND: Eric Gordon, Danuel House, Luc Mbah a Moute, Rockets FRP
HOU: Aaron Gordon, Mo Bamba, Magic SRP

Split vet min between 3-D specialists Aron Baynes and Langston Galloway/Tyler Johnson

Vet min signings: Josh Jackson, Bruno Caboclo, Jeff Green, Ryan Broekhoff, Justin Anderson

2 way contract for Dragan Bender.

    Brodie/Galloway
    Beard/Nwaba
    RoCo/Jackson/Broekhoff
    AG/PJ/Green
    Baynes/Bamba/Bruno

    *Trade deadline opportunity: Russ Westbrook

@D-rock how many Aaron Gordon scenarios are you going to have? I hope the Rockets get him just to give you a break from trade scenarios for him :p

I’m watching Duncan Robinson during this series and kind of hoping Morey brings in Kyle Wiltjer for a tryout this summer. 6-10, 7 foot wingspan and a great shot. He should be able to find minutes here. He’s only 27 and seems to be doing well in Turkey.

My persistence worked for RoCo (and Bruno), so gonna keep the AG dream alive. :D

And I'd rather Morey trade for Duncan (and Herro) instead. Spo has already done all the work developing him (not just as 3ball specialist but a cutter) and he is younger and better than Wiltjer, especially on defense.

Or just sign Ryan Broekhoff who is same age as Wiltjer and same size as Duncan. Better defender than both.

    Not saying you’re wrong.
Just saying the theme around this thread is tweaking our roster as if we have a chance to turn it into championship caliber with the notion that some players should be untouchable. Sure he’s an asset. As is PJ and House considering their contracts. But all can go or stay really.

i don’t seem how the rockets can give up any more first round picks. One... as in literally I do t think they can because of that rule. Two... at some point you have to just stop. If they’re getting back a binafide all star.. fine... but for Aaron Gordon and Mo Bamba?? No.

What about for a player like KAT (to Minnesota, along with another from CLE)? :)

Minnesota couldn't possibly be looking to get Kevin Love back. Towns will always be a pipe dream. We don't have the assets and Minnesota won't be willing for awhile now that they have Russell.

Pipe dream, no doubt, as evidenced by where this was posted.

All the same, I’m sure you heard the “good as gone” whispers about KAT. Unless there’s some bad blood I’m unaware of, not sure why they would be against a Love reunion. It’s a feel-good story that might satisfy some of the fan base. He’s regressed but can still play. And they could collect a couple draft picks.

Will there be better offers for KAT? I’m sure. Just an idea, though.

thts a tough one. Normally I’d say absolutely. But KAT is soft and doesn’t play any defense.

    I’d pass

Is there a three team deal in which we could land Gordon Hayward while moving out Tucker and Gordon. Can shoot, defend, pass and has size at 6'8. He's not Butler but kinda like a poor mans version in which he can do everything plus shoot at a high clip.

Only way to trade for Hayward is if he opts in next season. Otherwise it would have to be a SnT scenario.

And our resident cap expert @BimaThug has already stated that Sign and Trades are extremely unlikely for Houston based on precedence as well as operating over LT, especially considering Tilman's current financial situation.

5 NBA Trades That Would Change Everything Next Season

Houston receives: Ben Simmons, Julius Randle, Mike Scott, Wayne Ellington, Dennis Smith Jr.

    Philadelphia receives: James Harden

    New York receives: Russell Westbrook

The Houston Rockets have little to no means of improving their roster around James Harden and Russell Westbrook. They've exhausted their assets, and Rockets governor Tilman Fertitta may not be interested in paying the luxury tax for a team that isn't likely to win a title.

The Rockets can continue their charade of a faux contender or they can cash in what little value they have left and rebuild around one of the league's brightest young stars in Ben Simmons. The fit in Houston couldn't suit Simmons better. His ability to defend alongside Eric Gordon, Danuel House, P.J. Tucker and Robert Covington would make them a force to be reckoned with on the defensive end. Plus, their spacing would be the complement to his game he's been missing in Philadelphia.

The Rockets lose Westbrook but save themselves from his exorbitant contract and gain back flexibility. While moving him for picks one season ago hurts, living with that mistake would prove the greater error.

The Knicks get their superstar via trade, as SNY's Ian Begley reported they would. Chris Paul might be the target given his relationship with Leon Rose, but Westbrook would bring the electricity Madison Square Garden has been missing.

For the Philadelphia 76ers, this is a no-brainer. Acquiring the 2018 MVP while still in his prime immediately elevates them to title favorite and puts the rest of the Eastern Conference on notice.

    Current Roster:

    Westbrook / Gordon / Clemons
    Harden / McLemore
    House / Nwaba
    Covington
    Tucker

Looking at this roster, I see 2 problems:

    1) Minus Rivers, we will be in a tough spot if any of our guards get hurt. We need another facilitating guard.

    2) Too one dimensional on offense. 5-out isn’t changing, but having a big that can shoot and add some size on defense cant hurt.

my #1 target would be Ibaka, either by SnT or our full MLE. He’s an ideal 5 for us, and allows us to move Tucker to the bench, which strengthens that unit. He’s played with Harden, Westbrook and Tucker.

Resign Bruno to a 2 year minimum deal

I still think we need another guard (or 2 if Gordon is traded)

What we learned from the Laker series is that with Westbrook, we need everyone to be able to shoot AND he needs at least 2 other playmakers on the floor with him when teams wall off the paint. That’s why losing House was so devastating...he was the other playmaker outside of Gordon.

    Westbrook / Gordon
    Harden / McLemore
    House / Nwaba
    Covington / Tucker
    Ibaka / Bruno

    Sarcastic trade?

Every team is getting bent over except the Rockets who somehow get the 3 best assets in the whole trade by offering trash.

Ya you pull this trade do reboot. To me it would go down before draft time, Houston would probably get the knicks #8 pick. Tucker and Gordon would probably be put together for younger players and pick to Build around Simmons, #8 Pick. I think it be the best option going forward, but i doubt houston wants to rebuild because they Have Morey and his small ball mentality thinks he can do it with these 2.

I would do it, cause they are stuck with nothing after Harden/Westbrook fails year after year and they wont be able to get anything for them later, plus the future is completely shot with no draft picks. Houston with morey will probably just take the 3-4 more years of playoffs and then get the boot/firing to another team. It wont matter then cause they will probably be on another team and wont give flut about the rockets future, that when tilman sells the team and Basketball in Houston will be harder to bare than those years w/ walt williams and Kelvin Cato years... Dallas will probably be winning championships with Luka then. lol

I wouldn’t do Harden/Russ for Ben Simmons and Embiid let alone for just Ben Simmons. Jesus.

Stay away from Simmons. If the Rockets go the reboot route, they should load up on lottery picks.
