James Harden is an amazing regular season performer. There's no doubt about it. But the playoffs are an entirely different animal.
How are you going to call the thread “absolutely terrible” and then spin things with a totally biased post? Sure it’s convenient to simply say Harden destroyed Butler 4-1. It was all Harden right? Not Capela who was the real MVP of the series, not CP3 or the rest of the team but all Harden cause it sounds good to say he beat Jimmy 4-1 right? I think you’re forgetting some vital details in regards to what happened. Butler tore his meniscus late in February and came back 1 week before the playoff series began. He took a risk and chose a shorter surgery with a quicker recovery timeline as opposed to full meniscus surgery which would’ve ended his season. Jimmy Butler ain’t no quitter. He risked his long term health to come back early and got half assed efforts from KAT and Wiggins both of whom were worried about other stuff besides winning. Why would he stick around and waste his prime with guys like that? ‘Scared’ would be the last word to describe Jimmy Butler aside from “quitter”. The guy purposely went to Miami where there was no other Superstar when he could’ve joined much better teams. So let me get this right... Scott Foster had it in for us cause he wanted the Lakers to beat us but against Miami he all of a sudden flips the script on them so that Jimmy Butler can pop off and have a nice performance to be an inconvenience to your argument? Damn..... You mention Scott Foster being the reason for Butler’s performance (smh seriously??) but you won’t even acknowledge that Butler’s win came without 2 starters. It’s kind of a big deal when your 2nd and 3rd best players are out. That’s how Butler’s g3 is different from Harden’s g1 performance.
The only difference between James Harden regular season and playoffs is the refs don’t want us to win. Only superstar who shoots significantly less free throws. Even obvious fouls aren’t called. Those three first half threes in game one last year when Klay tried to take him out were criminal.
All I was saying was Harden was best player in the series and Jimmy had no answer. KAT and Wiggins woulda been better than anything we had this year. Bunch of scrubs on this team now. Just trying to point out he won one freaking game. Losing a few players when your team actually has depth is okay. Not like Bam or Dragic are some sort of All Nba players. Herro might be better than Dragic. If the Rockets lost any player they have no shot. See dumb Danuel House. Because our roster is gutted by our shitty owner who only cares about luxury tax savings that we basically only have guys for minimum that were castoffs from other teams and James Harden makes them soo much better. And Scott Foster bias isn’t always for or against any team. He’s the nbas puppet master to push their agendas on whatever makes the most money. A sweep in the finals is not good for revenue. More games = More $$
Anthony Davis averaged 2.5 fouls per game this year. That's his highest total in the past 6 years. Does that mean the NBA has been secretly propping up the Pelicans?
Harden came pretty close to carrying his team to a game 7 victory against arguably the single greatest (or most imbalanced) team of all time without his #2 option, AND with Scott Foster officiating. He just didn't load up the box score en route to doing it because he wasn't playing single coverage, switch everything defense like Butler did in game 3.
Aren't you the guy who referred to PJ Tucker as "the ultimate AD stopper" or "the ultimate Laker killer" or some nonsense like that?
It was an absolutely historic performance, no doubt. But I don't care how good [or bad] of a single game anyone has at any level: comparing players based on one game is absolutely asinine. Therefore, so is the very existence of this thread. But that's sports discussions for ya.
He’s an an addict or something iirc. Basically can’t reason critically so anyone that criticizes the team is a bad fan. Kinda of makes him feel better about himself. We just ignore him and laugh
I don't know how you can form an opinion based on one real-time speed view of the play from those angles. Some of those definitely looked like they could have been no calls. But the thing about the NBA is plays like this happen almost every single possession... Not to mention all the 50/50 charge/block calls and the like. Relatively speaking, NBA refs have so much freedom to decide when they will [or won't] blow the whistle, and which direction they'll blow it. There is more subjectivity in NBA officiating than probably any other major pro sport, and it's what leads to a lot of bias (and accusations of bias), and makes it so easy, at least in theory, to rig officiating.
For the first foul, there was a collision and Butler went down. That forced the refs to make a call, and since Butler had established position outside the circle, the foul had to be on AD. For the second foul, he clearly hit Olynyk's arm on the shot attempt. That's why the ball went straight up instead of towards the basket. AD knew it which is why he didn't argue. For the third foul, Olynyk was able to square himself, and AD lowered his shoulder into Olynyk's chest on the perimeter. That's always going to be an offensive foul. If he didn't lower the shoulder, it might've been a non-call.
