...but but Obama. All of those fiscal and law/order conservatives have sold their integrity just to remain in office. Sad!
I guess if we give Trump a second term he can declare bankruptcy for us. It would be winning and taking advantage of the rules to come out on top, right Mr. Trump? I'll think about changing my vote in the name of winning.
Trump raises coronavirus stimulus offer to $1.8 trillion, about $400 billion less than Dems’ bill https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/09/tru...us-offer-to-1point8-trillion-sources-say.html
Next year this is all we will hear about. Hope seniors out there planning to vote for Trump understand the GOPs view on fixing this problem is their entitlements.
https://thehill.com/hilltv/rising/5...ginable-consequences-without-federal-covid-19 Washington Post reporter Jeffrey Stein warned on Thursday about “unimaginable consequences” the country could face without another COVID-19 stimulus package, days after President Trump called off negotiations. Stein, an economics reporter for The Post, told Hill.TV’s “Rising” that economists predict 50 percent of small restaurants in the U.S. could shut down over the next six months, which he called “a very scary number.” “Think about your 10 favorite restaurants near you. Imagine if five of them – all of their kitchen staff, all of their wait staff, the servers, all of them being laid off,” he said. “And then, take that across the entire country. I mean it’s unimaginable consequences.” The reporter cautioned about an upcoming “nightmare scenario” in which Washington, D.C., experiences “complete paralysis” before Election Day and potentially has a lame duck president for three months ahead of Inauguration Day. “At that same time that Washington is at its maximum paralysis we’re going to see a huge increase in cases, according to Dr. [Anthony] Fauci and most of the scientific experts, and the concurrent wave of shutdowns and restaurant closures and economic headwinds,” Stein said. “So I’m looking at that period as being very frightful for economic news,” he added. Trump called off talks for another relief bill Tuesday after months of discussions. But Trump tweeted later that day advocating for some coronavirus aid, particularly for the airline industry and small businesses. The president said Thursday he is now pushing to negotiate a "bigger deal" than one narrowly focused on rescuing airlines, though Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) indicated that a standalone bill was off the table.
I dumped on Bush's moral hazard TARP bailout before because it was the banks fault and they ran up debt knowing the government would be there to save their, and everyones, asses. House Republicans voted against it the first time it came to vote. Cooler heads prevailed to inject needed liquidity into the markets despite some diehards still seething that it passed "under their watch". They hated it so much they called it the "Obama Bailouts". This time, Republican Senators are doing something similar, except the people and groups needing to be bailed out aren't at fault. Why do (40-51% of) Americans trust these do nothing dipshits to responsibly govern and gamble on their futures? Tax breaks and tax cuts? It's not the markets because we've already proven the unelected Fed chair can do that **** ANY time with ANY president!
My guess is that DJT walked away thinking he would scare Pelosi and democrats into giving in to whatever package was proposed next, after the administration re-entered negotiations. The way I see, it's all negotiation and strategy. However, he is out of his league trying to apply his same business principles against seasoned politicians.
Again, trump lies about everything, all the time. The Wall Street Journal fact checks him this time...
