Late to this discussion and haven't caught up but I believe Democrats will look at the impeachment process for SCJ's as well. Not sure what dirt wasn't already covered but worth digging back into it.
That's to be expected. What's surprising are that there are polls showing the race tied or even Biden leading in TX.
From November 3 till the new president takes his place does Trump have actual authority to do stuff? Or is he just a figurehead?
That's what's frightening. Not only does he have the full powers of the presidency during that time, but there will be a lame duck republican Senate that might be looking to exact some revenge. There will be no stimulus and I expect that they'll try to burn down as much as humanly possible during that time.
When the Constitution was written there was no rapid transportation so it might take a month just to get to Washington from some parts of the country. Also it was to give time for a transition of government with the belief that the outgoing President would behave rationally. For a long time it was a even longer transition with the new President not sworn in until March.
