No one will ever explain to me why Dusty Baker decided to not go to Javier with a 3 run lead and only 9-12 outs to get..... the idea that he needed to "save him for late in the series" is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. I will take 12 outs and a three run lead odds with Javier over shitty bullpen and 9 innings the next day.......... Greinke shouldn't even be pitching either..... again, inevitably he is struggling BECAUSE HE IS HURT. Whatever... the Astros have already exceeded my expectations so it is all gravy..... just REALLY REALLY poor decisions being made in the post season the last few days.
I do wish our pitchers would stop leaving hangers in the heart of the plate though.. If you're gonna miss your spot, miss it down damnit
And, credit to the A's, they haven't missed many. Nice to have an at'em ball go in the Stros favor that inning.
Their 3 run bomb hurts alot less as the game goes on if our bats wake up. Chip away or blow them up. This game just started.
At this point, you kind of have to ride him out for several more innings if you can - to see what your offense does so you can figure out whether Javier is worth using this game or better saved for tomorrow. This was basically the worst case scenario.
