This. The pandemic has helped the popularity of other world leaders. When it cropped up, I was worried it would have a rally-around-the-flag effect that would guarantee Trump's re-election. But he screwed up the response so badly, he turned an opportunity into a threat. If anyone got a gift from God, it was Trump. But the more accurate thing to say would be that Trump is such an incredibly bad and unfit leader that he is forcing the country to reconsider. And I would honestly rather have this election without Covid, even aside from all the death it has wrought. I wanted the US to express a rejection of Trump and Trumpism despite a good economy and things going well. I don't want it to be said that America would have embraced Trumpism but for the pandemic. I want it debunked and disgraced and dismissed. (That said, American voters would probably have disappointed me again.)
A man of integrity. BTW: Trump really did have a layup. His base will do whatever he wants them to do and if libs refused to wear masks the deaths that would happen no matter what could be blamed on them. He chose to ignore it and it was death toll headlines for 3 months straight.

Because Covid is a crisis not a tragedy like in the US. Don't blame your opponents for your own criminal incompetence that has lead 1/4 million innocents to their deaths. It is like a mass murderer is blaming the judge and the police for putting him behind bars.

Isn't the important thing that Trump is guilty of criminal negligence and killed tens of thousands of Americans who might otherwise be alive, and in the process of trying to keep the stock market afloat with Norman-Vincent-Peale bull****, caused the economy to largely crater?
