The more I watch Lakers-Heat, the more I want AG and Bamba on the Rockets. But I want one of Heat's assistants too because their Pace and Space w/motion off ball system would be perfect for Rockets. Maybe steal an assistant from Raptors too, their amoeba defense is a great change up to switch everything. Too bad Gentry went to Kings, Hollins-Gentry might be a helluva combo too.
My preference is for Morey to trade EGo for Turner and House for Bamba. If they want to go cheap then KOQ and Kaminski along with re- signing Green is the way to go.
Get T lue and then sign Kevin love to form big 3. It is better than wasting time to sign some noobs, if Morey wants to get champion.
It is the assistant coach coaching and the talent buying in. MDA was striped of his coaching staff and handed Westbrook the same year. I also think a Orlando trade is the way to go. They need a healthy Eric Gordon type, too. Plus thinning out some of their bigs because there isn’t enough playing time to develop them ALL.
The more I think about it the more I think they should run it back, resign Hartenstien and let him compete for the backup minutes with Bruno. Seriously, I have looked at UFA and I can’t find anyone that is a better option than Hartenstien. The issue with this team is that they have too many guards and MDA felt more comfortable playing them instead of forwards or centers. I think moving Gordon for a significant piece during the offseason isn’t very feasible and I think he is on the roster on opening day. Maybe the Rockets can be a 3rd team in a significant trade but I don’t think they give up Gordon in that kind of deal and I don’t think that they would be able to get anything of real value back in that kind of scenario. The Raptors and Knicks can offer better packages than the Rockets for either AG or Turner. I don’t think Horford is traded bc Doc is his coach again. Maybe the Rockets could get Love for EG but do we really think that the Rockets are going to increase their payroll and pay the luxury tax? Gordon needs to go back to his 6th man role so the Rockets have a guard rotation of WB, Harden and Gordon. House is too good of a fit on this team to sell low. McLemore is also a great fit, he’s insurance if they trade Gordon during the season, he has a great relationship with Harden and is on a great contract. The only real option that I see via trade would be a S&T of Rivers. But that could only bring back around 7m in salary if he is signed to a $9m per year contract bc the outgoing salary in a S&T only counts for half of its value (right?). What could they get back in that kind of trade? Not much. Maybe they could S&T Rivers to Orlando for Bamba but Orlando would be getting 10 cents on the dollar in that trade. I don’t think Orlando would do that even if the Rockets included House with Rivers. I say they should bring back Hartenstien, Bruno, J Green and Carroll (if he’s interested). I would also love to have Gerald back bc of his quick release 3 that he can get off over almost anyone at any time. I have no information on this but hopefully Gerald is fully recovered and can still play. I say run it back and be opportunistic during the season. Maybe James Johnson or someone similar is bought out and signs with the Rockets. WB/Rivers Harden/Gordon/McLemore RoCo/House/Nwaba/G Green PJ/Carroll J Green/Hartenstien/Bruno That’s not a bad roster. They just need to target another forward on the buyout market.

Literally half the roster would be minimum players, and then there is the issue that George has said he doesn't want to play the 4. My guess is that the Rockets in that scenario either insist on keeping House to try and defend the 4 or the Rockets or they try to get JaMychal Green included? I don't see why the Clippers do that with Leonard only being under contract for one more season as well....... The reality is that the Rockets would likely at least consider it, and Tilman would like green light it....... I cannot imagine how bad the post defense would be without Covington and Tucker..... would have to have a good idea who you could get to play the 5
Did Eric Gordon become two people? I'd do the trade to be honest. Morey finally gets his third star. Paul George is perfect next to Harden and always has been. I don't think LA would. Morey would also have a ton of work to do to fill out the roster but you figure it out once you get three stars.

PG would be coming here because of his friendship with Russ. If Russ goes to LA, we get the platter of role players while helping them create a three star team.

I just can't see LA giving up Paul George yet. They mortgaged their entire future for him. Only way that happens is if Kawhi wants him out. I think another team could offer a star in return.
