TCOB today, these ass-clowns got a little too big for their britches. Everyone sure loves to **** talk over twitter and to reporters, then wallflower when the games start.
Very different team and roster for more than half of those 162 games though. Fun stat, but not really very telling if you think about it.
Does anyone have any experience with creating a bunch of twitter accounts just for trolling purposes? I don’t have any social media but might be interested in a few accounts that can’t be traced back, just for the haters.
Teams even change during the regular season. Through all the changes, Astros still have Springer, Altuve, Bregman, Brantley, Tucker, Gurriel, Maldonado, Reddick, Correa, Greinke, Urquidy, Framber, Pressly, and James. That 162 game stat is much more representative of the Astros than the 60-game regular season record people kept looking at.
If the Astros get a lead today, do the A's bring in Hendricks? Heard so much about the Astros playing teams with better bullpens the last 4 years, and not once has it worked to eliminate the Astros in the postseason so far.
Its like the A's inserted themselves into the conversation of being "wronged" in some way when they have no business being in the conversation. Everyone agrees that we had cheaters on the 2017 team. The whole team participated and benefitted in some form, including Fiers. Did cheating contribute to the A's being 26 games out of first in 2017? Maybe. But they weren't good that year. Cheating didn't cost the A's a playoff run in 2017. This writer claims "just convert half the A's losses to wins" in 2019 and suddenly they have a case that they were wronged last year. Get the F outta here with that crap. Zero evidence of cheating in 2019. They have some fake chip on their shoulder against us this year. Those are salty chips, too. Let's see how it plays out. I haven't heard any trash can banging in this series yet.
I should add, I think having a great bullpen is a great addition to a playoff team. Having a plethora of starters than can pitch in any situation with a nails bullpen should be the goal though.
Feel like we need a big outing from Urquidy to close this out. I don’t want the A’s feeling like they have a shot to win this series. If Greinke is out for a while it puts even more pressure on the staff to produce. Couple of key guys in the bully are most likely out today, so I’m a bit concerned.
Even better would be another offensive ambush... get into their weary bullpen... and take the pressure off our staff.
