Trump is the New Carter. That's going leave a mark.

Does anyone else worry that this big lead by Biden will actually motivate Trump voters to increase their turnout, while simultaneously making Biden supporters dangerously complacent, leading to another [terrible, terrible] surprise?

    Let's hope not!

This question has confused the CriminalInChief, so he is on the phone with Uncle Putie to get some guidance.

    Yeah, I am really worried.
My tolerance for margin of error in this election is very small. I know 2016 is not 2020 but I hope that memory stays with people

The short answer is no, there has always been free speech in the USA to a very high level. In the past extreme tactics never worked in part because of a two party system, the American people simply did not embrace or accept marginal views or positions and those that rose in politics could not have those views as they were pushed out........ the USA is largely responsible for the development and spread of the internet and instant news and information but culturally the USA has not handled it well and it is causing issues across the globe.

No, Trump voters were already motivated beforehand...if anything, this will demotivate them.

Biden and 3rd party voters are ready to be done with Trump and are getting more motivated. USC Dornsfife has been tracking a poll of voters for awhile now and Biden and 3rd party voter motivation went up qutie a bit after the debate and Trump's diagnosis.

The combination of drugs, the degradation of his mind caused by COVID-19, and the realization that he is losing badly... so he says "he is entitled" to four more years.

Trump is not a Constitutional Scholar; he just plays one on twitter.

This has not been talked about enough by democrats, there are some good soundbites from McConnel about this.

Trump is flailing hard. Going all in on abortion, guns, and god now. He's out of ammo and can see the curtain falling.

Someone in the whitehouse must have seen his insane tweet, grabbed the phone away from him and deleted it. But the internet remembers everything...

I blame all the adults who just started using the internet in earnest in the last 8 years.

Not really I don't think they can increase turnout and will probably make more not even bother to vote because they think its a lost cause.

Voting against Trump is now a badge of honor so I don't think it will depress the vote against him.
