No, McConnell is too powerful, in my opinion. He holds “marks” on too many senators, and I don’t doubt that the majority of the GOP side of the aisle will do whatever he says. It would be stunning if he was “overthrown” by his caucus, something I can’t see happening. After the election? If it’s a disaster for Republican senators and they lose their majority by a larger than expected margin, then after the new senate is seated, sure. Perhaps McConnell could lose his leadership position (which would have me dancing around the house!) My thought is that it would literally take a handful of Republicans to pass the bill. The GOP majority is 53 to 47. If all Democrats and the 2 Independents that caucus with the Democrats support the bill, and I think they would, it would only take 5 Republican votes to pass it. McConnell would have to “release” his caucus to vote as they wish. If he did, I think we’d get those 5 votes. McConnell won’t do it unless trump asks him to. trump is currently off his rocker, so that’s extremely unlikely. :-(
You and me both, homeboy. Flushing Trump is priority #1. But watching Mitch McConnell eat s***? That would be, like, Victory in Europe day. Mussolini caught trying to cross the Alps: "Where the **** do you think you're going, Il Douche-ay?"
In a lot of ways, McConnell is worse that trump. I hate the guy. He is one miserable, ruthless, soulless, lying ******* of a “human” being.
Yes you realize that that means right? It means for every dollar a red stater pays in taxes, they get more than a dollar back from the federal gov't. It means that they receive a higher proportion of tax dollars - in other words, money is moving from blue states to red states.
they're both miserable, ruthless, soulless, lying ******* of a “human” being trump, his senate/house cabal, mafia admin, and POS supporters
It’s an observation, not a call to arms. Do you think they are going to give up their power peacefully? What has Trump been saying every time he is asked about a peaceful transition of power? If not, what is the alternative?
Nonviolent transition of power, just like it's been done for many years. It won't be as pretty as usual, but yeah, that.
I think that’s fair but who knows at this point. We also had federal troops tear gassing and beating peaceful protesters so that King Dingaling could pose (awkwardly) with a Bible in front of a church on a whim. Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.
