I thought about this more and I think one thing that makes sense is the “slip” that Trump was positive 72 hours ago and he kept going to events causes panic within the WH. MM threw out this story to distract from that. Whatever it is, confusion and chaos is the hallmark of this admin. Lies, slip of truth, more lies to cover up lies, and lies to correct truth. It’s hard to keep up for the liars and for the rest of us as well.
I know I shouldn't wish illness and death on anyone, but maybe if Trump dies a public and painful death from this, some lives might be saved from the rest of the MAGA crowd getting the message and stop doing things that spread the virus.
Trump biting the dust won't necessarily save hundreds of thousands. The damage is already done in the amount of false information that is out there and given that we are already seeing people claim that Trump was deliberately infected and / or that the "deep state" is behind it this might make things worse. Also under the US the President actually has a limited say in combatting the diseases and until the states take it seriously little will change. As of today I'm not aware of states like Florida changing policy. Actually I don't wish death on Kim Jong Un. Depending on how he dies could lead to nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula. I wish him out of power just like I wish Trump out of power and an orderly transition to something else. In both cases the best thing that could happen is that their movement and regimes are repudiated by their countries. In the US we have that opportunity in this election and for me rather than Trump dying I would like to see him soundly defeated a the polls and then face criminal charges upon leaving office. To me that would be far more effective in ending Trumpism than him dying and becoming a martyr. As for those other people I'm not one to say that noone deserves death and I'm not against war under all circumstances that said I don't spend much of my time thinking about who deserves death and who doesn't. That's not how I live my life and goes again to whether Trump or others people deserve death I'm not going to wish it upon them because that is who I am. You don't have to apologize or not apologize to me. I'm not going to dissuade you from wishing death on Trump or not. I'm saying why I don't wish it. The truth is whether we wish Trump to die or to be healed is out of our hands.
I think there are definitely differences in interpretation. My understanding is that in some sects of Buddhism also don't have the concept of good or bad Karma it just is and is a matter of what leads to more or less suffering.
Yes Trump isn't like most people who get this disease. Noone will have the same resources that the POTUS will have. Trump surviving and making a fast recovery is less about the progress we have made in fighting the disease and another example of inequalities in medical care of this country.
There's a lot of time I don't agree with Omar but I fully agree with this. The MN Dept of Health issued a call that everyone at that rally should be tested and should be contact traced. Given the hostility in rural MN to trying to do a survey to see how widespread the disease is I doubt that's going to happen.
Like you, I'm a MN resident. The level of individual irresponsibility being demonstrated by some of these Trump voters, and the rally organizers, is unconscionable. They apparently have no concept of how their behavior can impact the welfare of the general population.
I’m in total agreement with this. Biden should definitely go after all this. How in the hell can Trump or Trumpers defend any of it? By the way Trump handled his own life regarding Covid is a microcosm of how he’s handled the country. one big cluster after another.
I am now a bit concerned about the servers and other "not uber rich" people that were at these events to attend to these people They won't get to go to Walter Reed Rocket River
The only way any of the republicans take this seriously is if some one at that rose garden party dies. If they all pull through, nothing will change even if they have a tough time recovering from the virus.
