That would be a 25th Amendment situation. In previous cases where the President has been incapacitated such as GH Bush having surgery the President has voluntarily transferred power ahead of time. In the case where they haven't it's been far more chaotic such as when Reagan was shot and Secretary of State Al Haig declared he was in charge.

Knowing Trump I doubt he will voluntarily relinquish power. If he does get incapacitated such as having to being ventilated he won't prepare for that possibility and at that point the cabinet will have to assemble and vote to pass power to Pence.

Until Pence assumes role of presidency I am not reading too much into this. COVID may kill Trump, but most likely won’t. But if Trump gets intubated, he is a goner.

Well, there are severable feasible reasons and any of them could be working in combination with one of the others.

    1. He's a p***y. That's a fact and can't be denied.
    2. Security concerns
    3. To avoid press.
    4. It's super serious.

Yes that is why there is a lame duck period to facilitate that transfer. If Trump were to die suddenly there is no transition period.

At this point how can Pence not be sworn in ? Leadership must continue for the country for our security. Like I said I wish the best for Trump but my gut feeling is he won’t make it out of this ..

Everything I've heard from people who had it is that it comes in waves. You could feel sick for a few days, then feel better and then all of sudden feel much worse.

Roll a dice. If it’s one he dies. Any other number he lives.

2020 is the gift that keeps on giving.
I didn't think Trump would get Covid a month before elections...his supporters must be so confused.

Pence is active in the administration. I think you are overestimating the value of Jared - from my understanding - his primary purpose with the PPE is to help drive profit for Trump. They really haven't been doing a whole lot to help with the pandemic.

As far as mid-east - I doubt much is lost there. I don't think Jared is much of a player beyond the fact he is a representative of Trump. Trump dumped everyone when he came in, and the state department has been weakened and gutted. It's already a mess and in shambles. Losing Jared isn't a big loss here.

Trump may never leave that hospital. It's a real possibility. Crazy as it sounds.

Pence needs to fetch his balls from his wife's purse in case he has to be sworn in.

Apparently, its the preferred mode of transport by the USSS due to security concerns.

Odds are overwhelmingly in his favor.

But, what we don’t know is what are his true underlying health conditions. His doctors all say he’s the healthiest president ever. But, let’s get real. He very well could have a serious issue we don’t know about. He’s 74, so he almost certainly has some issues.

But, he will have the best healthcare and treatments anyone can get. And I’m not talking about hydroxychloroquine.

One serious aspect of this is that all people that had contact with trump, hicks and other people with positive cases should have been contacted (contact tracing), both for the president's sakes and the health of those contacted. Here's one person saying he has had no contact from the white house...
