Life was just better in the 80's and 90's. Movies were better. Music was better. Rockets were better. Oilers were better. People were better.
Al Bundy was constantly insulting other characters, especially overweight women.... Peggy Bundy was depicted as a self-centered, incapable, stay-at-home wife and mother... Kelly Bundy was objectified as a sex symbol, being pranced around in slutty outfits and demonstrating very low intelligence... and Bud Bundy was depicted as a loser son who was picked on, a failure, and bullied by all other characters. ... truly, a fantastic show!
Loved the show. I'll always remember driving in Downtown LA back in 91 for the first time with some buddies checking out the sights. We pull up to a red light to make a left turn and the guys in the car go nuts. Who is next to us in a silver Mercedes at the light with a barking poodle dog. Christina Applegate. She laughed as she she sped away as we drooled on the windows with guys screaming follow her!!! Later that night we got turned away from Hugh Hefners Rock at his gate. We knew a party was going on and 4 guys in a Camaro 3 of which were Italian New Yorkers arguing with the rock on why we should be let in was hilarious. To be 20 again.
its a pity what women will do to keep the allure of youth alive. That is definitely not what I saw in 91
She's older and she's had a double mastectomy from having breast cancer. She's also had her ovaries removed because of a perceived cancer threat. She's probably been through hell and back. She was hot but her character was so vapid otherwise, and the rest of the show never really caught my interest, so I never really watched the show, so no comment.
Yikes, that's rough. Completely man-dog-superficial-wise, I was talking about pre-cancer, right after Married. She just looked worn down in the late 90's early 00's.
Oh yeah, she was hot, but man, after reading her struggles, I've got so much respect for her. I saw her in a Jimmy Kimmel interview and she was hilarious just talking about daily life. lol. She's got some show now on Netflix (?) that I forget the name of that's supposed to be pretty good or gets good reviews from what I recall. I don't watch it, so I can't comment.
It was hilarious and basically responsible for the Fox network continuing to exist They held them up for a long time Ed ONeill kills it on Modern Family as well Peg was ruthless in Sons of Anarchy Rocket River
Dead To Me My wife watches it...so I get to fringe-watch it. It's actually a pretty good show. She's a solid actress. Life has been tough to her...but I give her a ton of credit. Still looks solid...but best days were definitely MWC.
