You're incorrect. SP500 is roughly 7% off it's all time high and my account has taken a hit. Stimulus is needed to continue the pump.

"Now that the White House is really in a tight spot, Pelosi really has leverage to force them to do something to help the country"

    - is all you need to know about the GOP today and the utter brokenness of our system.

    Imagine voting for this.

It makes sense that Trump has interest in a bill, but the Senate does not. Afterall, if Trump loses, Republicans will want the economy to tank so they can limit Biden to one-term. This was their approach in 2009 afterall.

They've already tanked the deficit. This is their version of demanding a diet Coke after that four year fat cat free for all

I really want him to live the next, and probably last, 6 years of his life as minority leader with no filibuster

The economy is improving. Last minth's unemployment rate was 7.8%. Covid is probably gonna be the end of Trump but he doesn't need to do a deal. A lot of people feel the government gave away too much with the $600 a week and it did and the money is real and irs over

They gave a lot in the first stimulus. I know what you mean, the corporate tax cuts are damaging but that $600 was too much. They could have done $300. Either way the economy is stabilizing

I guess no one can predict the butterfly effects of the deficit/stimulus but I would like to see someone try. People out of work, can't pay mortgages or rent effects the growth rate for housing, people working from home effects the Commercial real estate market downward, developers and REITs can't pay the bank loans, banks have less to loan for lower profits and some fail, government will be required to bail them out to stop a recession/depression, that will effect Treasury Bonds and raise interest rates, stifling growth, And overall the tax income to the government will be lower, raising the deficit and so on.

What makes wealth in America is money flowing through the system, the money multiplier effect.

Why not just give everyone healthcare. More effective than a stimulus.

Simplicity? easier to write a check than remake an entire industry

Stimulus checks are equivalent to kicking the can down the road. Public healthcare is a long term solution that will prevent future economic depressions and stimulus checks. Unfortunately Americans in general have very short term interests when they vote.

Agree, but legislating Universal Healthcare is a massive undertaking that will require a Democratic majority in the House and Senate. People are hurting now.

    Bail out people not companies.

Here's an idea, everybody has a bank account administered via a postal bank or whatever. The government pushes a button and money appears in that account.

It's like bitcoin, but not as stupid.

Sam, Sam, Sam, the conservatives still believe that since we have only tried trickle down for 40 plus years we need to be patient and we will have abundance. Be patient we may just be another couple of massive tax breaks for the "job Creators" (remember that short lived phrase) away from the end of suffering for all.
