I will spare everyone the moral lecture but Trump dying from COVID-19 isn't going to be a good for this country. I don't think it means the country collapses but Trump has run a lot of things in the Executive branch chaotically while replacing capable staff with yes man. That's bad but now it will be up to Pence to step in and hope he can hold onto the loyalty of those yes men while trying to take over policies that were already incoherent with the economic crisis and pandemic still going. I can very well see a power struggle happen within the administration with people like Barr, Kushner, and Meadows jockeying for more power. In the meantime our economic and COVID crisis is still getting worse and negotiations on stimulus packages stalls. The election is still going and Pence will try to capitalize on Trump's death to win back the country. I wouldn't put it beyond him and what's left of the Trump Administration to try to delay the election. While they can't do that alone they might convince enough GOP controlled states to do so throwing us into even more confusion and then giving an excuse for the election to be decided in the House where the GOP still controls the majority of states. This is very very speculative. If Trump were to die suddenly with the election so close many of his supporters might not accept that his death was caused by COVID-19 particularly since many of them believe it is a hoax. If Trump's most ardent supporters believe he was assassinated and already are inclined to believe things like QAnanon that could lead to a lot of violence.
Violence is highly probable if he loses election but lives then if Covid takes him out. As far as the election, I don't know how that gets settled and who runs against who but there will be an election. I can't see Pence just taking over for 4yrs.
This actually happened to Terry Kath of the band Chicago. He was playing around with a 9mm on Jan 23, 1978 pointing it at his head and pulling the trigger. While the magazine was indeed empty he did not know that there was a round in the chamber. His last words were, "What do you think I’m gonna do? Blow my brains out?". Kath then replaced the magazine in the gun, put the gun to his temple and pulled the trigger. He died instantly.
It might be true. I don't necessarily believe it. It isn't surprising if it is true. But I don't trust this.
It would be a huge blow to the Trumpers if he died (unlikely). Hard to say how that would develop. It would assure a win for Biden. And the totally red states are an economic minority to truly cause a violent disruption. Pence would have to accuse somebody of nefarious play to legitimately delay election and present supporting evidence. He doesn't have the charisma to do it any other way. And from the grass roots levels, who is going to lead the unrest? Sheriff Joe? Roger Stone and proud boys? There are no charismatic leaders on the right because Trump likes all the attention and only promotes psycho yes men and corrupt fixers. If such scenario was truly viable, markets would've crashed today..
Wearing a mask doesn't prevent you from getting the virus. Unless you are stating people who do not wear masks deserve to get sick ... thats pretty ****ed up.
