This is what Trump does. He plays both sides. He pretends to condemn "all" white supremist groups without actually naming the "one" in question. But, he doesn't really condemn them in a way that makes you believe him versus just bowing to the pressure to say something because people are calling him on it. And, then he doesn't call out any particular group by name because he knows these people are voting for him and he doesn't want to lose any of their votes.
Trump has a bigger bot farm. Hoepfully his bots cannot actually vote in the election, but I am sure his boys are working on this obstacle.
There would still be mics in the studio and trump was asked a direct question about the proud boys so his mic would still be on. Anything Trump says would still be recorded just not over what biden is saying. He would look even worse if his mic was cut.
I think Wallace got pissed of and started baiting Trump, he started asking the hard questions once he got out of control.
Mics are not going to be cut. Lets move on from this conversation. And cutting mics is not for the viewers experience, but to prevent the candidate from distracting the other candidates. If Trump can still distract Biden with a cut mic, then there is no point in doing it. If all you heard was Biden say "Would you just shut up, man", then everyone would accuse him of schizophrenia.
Trump might be loud enough to be picked up on Biden's mic especially during a town hall where they might have some freedom of movement.
