I know all this is not feasible, but just for kicks.

I would gamble on Hammon for all the reasons above, plus maybe the closest thing we will get to a Pop.

who I would really love to be in leadership is Chauncey. The man is a straight underdog winner. Only player to have a winning record against Jordan, Kobe, and Lebron (I know its a team game). He’s a Champion, almost two time champion if it wasn’t for the spurs and big shot bob.

lastly, for the cherry on top, I would add in Rudy T as president, the Champion’s heart of it all!

How about that for a “culture reset”?

I think Malone coached same team to better record.

Still not sold on Joerger but man, Rockets options not looking great right now.

Gentry as an assistant to whomever they hire would be great however.

Especially if it is an inexperienced HC or player's coach who lacks X's and O's like Doc or Lue.

Agree with everything except Thibs being elite coach.

Thibs at his best as assistant coach in charge of defense.

I would go after Atkinson as the HC. Gentry would be a useful assistant, since Sam is a Clipper.

You mean Lionel Hollins? I think Joerger still should get a lot of credit as he was brought in as a defensive co-ordinator and they went from 24 to 2nd in DRTG during his time as lead assistant

Joerger is a good coach. It is hard to argue against his ability to coach.... the issue is his personality.

Personally I would be happy with Joerger and an assistant like Gentry or Finch named as associate head coach....

Malone then Joerger was HC for the Kings before Luke Walton.

Edit: I forgot that George Karl coached a season between the 2 coaches. But none of these coaches could take the Kings any higher than 3rd in their division. I just noticed that Kings seemed to play frenetic pace under Joerger than they did under Karl/Walton.

****I am revising my opinion on Joerger. If he has Gentry or Finch as assistants while keeping the switch everything defense (not necessarily for entire game or vs. certain teams) then I would rather watch an aesthetically pleasing brand of basketball like he implemented with Kings.

If Rockets play at even faster pace offensively than they did under MDA then I am game.

That said, still prefer Atkinson, Silas or Hardy over Joerger.

Silas would be awesome. I honestly can't see Doc coming here and it's the a big reason I want him here so badly. I think he dealt with Donald Sterling and doesn't want to deal with Tilman. I want to be proven wrong about Tilman's reputation.

I like Tilman fwiw...and if we hire a big name everybody will say oh he just wants to make a splash or headlines but it also means he opened up the paycheck book and wants the best for this team.

But like he said Morey is leading this thing and I believe him.

It's nothing to do with his checkbook with Doc for me. It's Tilman's political affiliations and historical dealings that makes me believe that Doc wouldn't coach under him. He's dealt with Donald Sterling and that aftermath.

No love for Hammon? I can agree with your top 3 or 4, though.
