Damn! Didn’t see that coming. He failed. No doubt about that. But, he just seems like such a popular guy. But, he did fail. I thought they were the best team.
Your 2 best players score the same amount of points in the 4th as every poster here but the coach is to blame lol
Some do more with less; some less with more... Vinny Del Negro: 2010-11: 32-50 2011-12: 40-26 L Semifinals 2012-13: 56-26 L 1st Rd Then Chris Paul (allegedly) wanted a black coach...enter Glenn Rivers
If you can't adjust and plan/prepare for your two best players to score more than 0 points in the 4th then yea you should get the blame.
Yall shouldn't worry too much about the Rockets signing Doc Rivers. Its not likely to happen. Why? Doc made 11 million last year. He's been one of the highest paid coaches the past half decade. Tilman didn't want to pay Dantoni even 5 million? No doubt Tilman will like the shiny object that is Doc, but when he looks at his empty tight wallet...
I think we should line up for Doc. He can bring us to a 3-1 conference finals record. Then, let's just take it from there
7pts between both of them in the 2nd half. That’s not on doc They missed Wide open 3’s Midrange shots Lay ups Didn’t get to the free throw line (only 1 between them) it’s nothing doc could have done. They literally couldn’t throw a rock in the ocean. The only thing that rival that is 27 missed threes in a row
They were up 3-1. What you’re talking about is a half of a game 7 that shouldn’t have been played. This isn’t Quin Snyder and the Utah Jazz. If you’re led to believe that Doc Rivers is an elite coach then he should not have had his team in that Game 7 scenario to begin with. And this isn’t the first time a team coached by him has collapsed. If it was a one time thing it’s easier to dismiss.
Doc Rivers, Clippers Had 'Accumulation Of Philosophical Differences' The decision for the Los Angeles Clippers and Doc Rivers to mutually part ways was "an accumulation of philosophical differences through the years and, especially, recent weeks" rather than "an impulsive overreaction to the organization's early playoff exit," reports Jovan Buha of The Athletic. Rivers and Steve Ballmer held several candid meetings and conversations, sources told Buha. The two sides ultimately decided they had differing visions of how the Clippers should move forward. Rivers viewed the roster as flawed, while Ballmer and the front office believed they were championship favorites.
Accumulation of philosophical differences?? That sure is a long-winded way of saying, "GTFO, choker."
Rivers shat the bed, period. Ballmer gave him a roster that SHOULD have went to the WCF at the very least this year and he shat the bed. Rivers went from having a broken, maxed out Blake Griffin as his top player 3 years ago to a roster with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and couldn't manage to put away a less talented Denver team.
No, if that report is correct, then Rivers was right about that roster being flawed with the biggest flaw being Paul George who disappeared during the playoffs. This is supposedly a Steve Ballmer decision and to be fair Doc just blew his 3rd 3-1 lead in the playoffs. He's a good coach but that team under achieved and had severe chemistry issues. The Clippers have mortgaged their future to put together this team and simply don't have the luxury of time to waste with both Leonard and George being able to walk next summer. The clock is ticking very loudly for that franchise.
If Paul George was the problem, then they are stuck. Getting PG was the reason Kawhi would join them. So it's not just one player. They are stuck with Leonard and George just like we are stuck with Harden and Westbrook. There's no way to significantly improve the team by getting rid of either of them. The only thing they can do now is try their best to improve around these two guys.
