I agree, and I’m a big fan of his skill set. As a UT alumnus, I saw him play a lot during his one year in college. I would describe him as a poor-man’s LaMarcus Aldridge because his offensive game isn’t as refined.
Agree to disagree, then. No All-Star Game appearances, no All-NBA teams, didn't even make the 1st team All-Rookie team. There's nothing about his time with the Clippers that had him moving in the direction of "superstar." Without the injuries, he might have made a few All-Star teams, but his ceiling was always more borderline star than superstar. And don't get me wrong, I actually like EG's game when he's healthy and hitting a decent clip from three.
I am turning into MDA in overhyping him, I didn’t even catch myself. Yea of course all nba / all star talent not superstar.
They don't work together. Indiana would look to move one - most likely Turner? They might also think Oladipo is not a full max star, and get what they can for him before they get stuck. Westbrook for Turner and Oladipo. Well, we can dream can't we?
Harden is in definite need of a legit pnr partner. Clint left a big ole gap in that lane offensively and defensively. Green was alright, but he didn’t run like Clint.
I’m sure everything and everyone that is available, we will have interest. Don’t expect too much, especially until we have a coach.
Bamba would lead the NBA in blocks in Rockets current system too. RoCo was top 5 in blocks and he's only 6'7 with 7'2 wingspan. Bamba is 7'0 with 7'10 wingspan (greater than Gobert) and ability to hit 3ball as well or better than Turner. Bamba is also a rim runner and has higher upside putting ball on floor and attacking basket, Turner not so much.
Only guys that can run like Clint, or harder, at similar size are Ben Simmons, Aaron Gordon or Bam Adebayo. And all 3 can also play point center with more physicality and aggression than Jeff Green. 7'0 footers who can run and create are Mo Bamba or Dragan Bender. Bamba is much better defender however.
A true center that can rebound, block shots, defend and hit threes for spacing, who is also 23 years old. Yes
Baynes is cheaper to acquire (MLE) and Bamba has more upside. I like Turner but he's not my first trade target option. Rockets need 3rd guy to be a star OR BETTER. That's not Myles Turner.
I can see the reasoning, but I definitely don't see Baynes as a star or better. He's also 33 years old and his best years of NBA development are likely behind him. I like Bamba as well, I would be open to that also. I don't know if I see them as potential for stars, but I'd really enjoy having a true C and PF who can space the floor, rebound and defend again.
Both Baynes and Bamba are secondary pieces. 3rd star is someone like Jerami Grant, Kelly Oubre or AARON GORDON. Bigger longer athletic 3-D players that can put up 30 pts on any given night to replace EGo offense. Turner cannot do that. Split MLE between Aron Baynes and Langston Galloway (or Tyler Johnson). Sign Jeff Green and Bruno Caboclo to vet min. IND: EGo, LMAM, House + Rockets FRP ORL: Oladipo, McLemore HOU: AG, Bamba Brodie/Galloway Beard/Nwaba RoCo/PJ AG/Green/Bruno Baynes/Bamba *Westbrook optional trade to DET (Wood SnT, Kennard, FRP) OR to MIA (Herro, Robinson, DJ) would also be amazing.
I'd have to dive a little deeper on those guys when I have time. I may touch base on this again, not sold yet until I take a closer look but interesting suggestions.
Mitch McConnell? That dude's evil! And so old! "I suppose if I felt the need to dribble.....I could always call the nurse."
I don't even know that the salaries match up here at all, but even if they did, on what planet would Detroit or Miami want to make those trades? CF posters are seriously overvaluing Westbrook—his contract is an albatross. The only way you move Westbrook is (A) Taking back another horrible contract in return, (B) Adding assets to Westbrook to soften the blow of paying him all that money to suck, or (C) A combination of both.
