I do peroxide and a bulb like what's in the kit now. It works but I have to force the water into my ear HARD over and over again. I'll have to try it. (And yes, those photos are nasty!)

Just go swimming, put a little rubbing alcohol in your ears when you're done.

I always thought The Scoosh was that maneuver in the sack not mentioned in polite society. The one that has the chick walking funny the next day. You know, her girlfriends notice and say, “What’s up, Cheryl? Buck have you doing acrobatics again last night?” The girl blushes a little and says, “Yeah, he uncorked The Scoosh again. The guy will have me in the emergency room some night with that damn thing. It’s dangerous!” Everyone laughs.

Dobrox can loosen the wax. It's safe. The only thing is if you don't flush it out properly. It'll fall to the 'floor' of the ears, which can muffle your hearing. Don't worry it's not permanent damage or anything.

Just ask your primary care physician to flush it out. They may even do it for you at the end of a regular health check up. (save on that co-pay). Warm water; few minutes on each ear. The scooshing process after something like dobrox is more effective because the wax is loose.

For the first few hours after, you do feel like you have super hearing.

I've gotten my ear washed out before. It took forever and the gunk that kept pouring out must've given the nurse a nightmare or two. Felt endless...

My inner ear canal is small so it's harder to get gunk out. Have also used olive oil as one of those home remedy hacks, but it takes forever.

Debrox safer than hydrogen peroxide. Peroxide has the risk of it getting underneath the wax, forming a bubble and unnecessary pressure on the ear canal. I've used both for days. Peroxide also makes my ear feel raw after a couple days, so use accordingly.

Warm water in shower plus soaping out the outer ear is usually good enough for most people. You need some ear wax buildup so deep cleansing all the time is not recommended.

I call that the pile driver and after kid #3 was born and messed up my wife's hips, it was no longer an option.
